thanks for your reply, here in chennai it too hot how abt the climate in canada can i have your face book id , if u don’t mind, here is my query, how this credential assessment help to hoteliers

    1. Indira

It’s freezing here ;) Well it all depends, it’s not mandatory for the non regulated occupations, but it’s good to have them handy. It all depends on the particular employer’s requirements.

    hi indira,

thanks for your reply , ur helping me a lot

here is my query, my family and i are planning to move to canada, i have already told that i have new born babe, we are planning to take him along with us , as u said short landing , means the very next day i can come back to india or i have to take my pr and come , b’coz it is very tough to have new born babe with us when v r in canada , as we are new to the place once we settle down we thought to take him, here my parents will take care of him , as my freinds said with out pr card we can’t enter canada again once we landed
, how much time it take to get pr card,

can i have your face book id

    regards
    madhu

    1. Indira

Yes, the visa that you recieved is a single entry. So, once you land, that visa is cancelled. You guys HAVE to wait for the PR cards to arrive before you leave Canada. Some use another option, but I wouldn’t recommend this one. You can leave the next day to India, and give one of your trusted friends’ address for the PR cards while landing. That way, the PR cards will go to their place and they will send it to you somehow. The risk here is that it could get lost while in transit(if sent by courier or mail to India) or sometimes it takes more than usual(31 business days) for the PR cards to arrive and if that is the case, you cannot re-enter until they are received by your friend and in turn you. And you have to be HERE to followup with the PR cards application if there is anything.

It would be wise for you guys to stay here until you receive the PR cards. Believe me it’s not worth the risk you take with the above option.

    hi indira

thanks for your reply , if iam coming Canada first and the spouse follows me next how much i have show pof @ the time of arrival please guide
    regards
    madhu

    1. Indira

Either ways, PA HAS to show the entire proof of funds(for the whole family) whether or not they are accompanying the principal applicant.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  6. Madhusudhanrao

    hey indira

    please reply
    regards
    madhu

    1. Indira

Same to you :) Hoe to see you guys here soon..

Usually for the RPRF we pay in INR. But we need not pay that for the kids :) . I guess you are talking about the application fee. Please correlate it with the NDVO letter asking for the same. I guess it should be in INR too.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  7. madhusudhanrao

    hi indira

    wish you happy pongal

thanks for your reply indira, as i said earlier, my spouse follows after me to canada, is it necessary to show POF @POE when she arrrives to canada ,

    regards

    madhu

    1. Indira

I wish the same for you and your family :)

As already said, the principal applicant has to show the proof of funds for the entire family even though they are not accompanying. Once you land successfully, they can land later and will not be asked to show POF at POE.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    Hi Indira
Very detailed information regarding credential assessment . But I am little confused. I have Done Be-Electrical than MBA Marketing from IGNOU (Distance learning). I intend to take up job in Toronto. in your writeup there are various options in credential assessment from Basic to detailed / Course-wise . As the fee for the assessment also varies please suggest which type of assessment should work for me.

BTW as promised please write about create a list of items one should carry with him to Canada.

    regards
    Nawal

    1. Indira

I suggest you to contact your respective professional regulatory organisation and take it from there.

I do have it on my list :) sorry for the late response..

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    1. Indira

  11. ANU

Hi Indira, after a long wait we got our visas.
i have a qurey– we have entered Toronto,Ontario while filing the application, but we want to go to Calgary,ALBERTA . can we book a ticket for the same .is it necessary to inform NDVO about the change of province?
Also is it necessary to intimate NDVO that we have received our visa.
    thanks a lot,
    regards,
    ANU

    1. Indira

Congrats! You can LAND anywhere in Canada, irrespective of what preference you entered in application. No need to confirm receipt of visas :)

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  12. Vinod

    hi Indira,
    Hope you are doing good.

Any experience/advise with credential assessment? Your comparative chart is useful. ICAS service is just 10 business days..!!! seems fast.
I got my masters from IIT. Looking to get the assessment done before I land there.

    Thnx,
    Vinod

    1. Indira

Well, for me I don’t have a need for credential assessment yet. For my spouse, he had to go through his professional regulatory body for that and so we do not have personal experiences.
10 days is a very small time, you can come here and apply.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

A great post, Indira. And you’re right – the sooner you can start the process, the better. It can take some time so it’s good to plan ahead! And if you can work with an , they’ll be able to look at your individual case and make specific recommendations to expidite the process. Thanks for sharing these resources!
