pls be open about job scope in toronto.

    1. Hi Bindu,

The job market in Toronto is the biggest in the country and obviously there are plenty of jobs available now, just that we need to work hard to find them. There are plenty of routes to your first job, some of which are already posted in this blog. I will keep posting information here :).

    be in touch

    1. Well to immigrate or not to is a very different and personal choice. The job factor cannot do the trick there.

u r always very supportive and helpfull to every one. keep going.

    i issues
    1, i dont have anybody there(relatives)
2, i view in the forum that some are struggling to al least to have a survival job.

some say that we cant maintain a family including home rent with survival jobs.

    is that true?

here i need your direct answer to these question.

    shijo alookaran

    1. So, They are not called issues. Situations!

      1. 70% of immigrants to Canada DO NOT have relatives here. They had to start on their own. We did too.
      2. Did someone promise you that you will automatically get a very good job with a very good pay as soon as you arrive here and that noone is struggling in Canada for jobs? Yes, getting a job in your field with a decent pay within months is not something impossible. But that requires preperation and the determination to do that. You have to do what it takes and be prepared to give your 100% to it. Yes, we see some people here who struggle much more than other immigrants, just because they are ignorant of the newcomer support services, networking benefits etc., that are available here. Yes, life as an immigrant is difficult in a new country for the first few months and we have all gone through it. Believe me there are so many streams of support than we expected and we are happy we made this choice. Remember there is something called ‘Proof of funds’ with our application? That money will help us sustain until we get a job. Most likely we will get into a survival job at first as they are relatively easier to get into. We should target to get a job of our choice asap from there and life goes on!

I am not pushing you to make a decision here. People here struggle to live not because they cannot get a job, but because they are either not doing their job search in the right way or they do not know how to seek help.

thanks. u r always very supportive to others.

    are you into nursing job?

i would like to get a reply on below mentioned quiry.
    we r a family of 3(hus,wife and a kid)
is that possible to maintain a family of hus and wife with this suevival job?
what is the average monthly living cost?
what is the avarage salary of srvival jobs?

your early reply would be very much appreciated.

    1. No I’m not a nurse :).

The minimum wages in Ontario is 10.25 an hour and you can calculate the sample pay for a survival job from there.

Yes it’s possible to survive with a survival job but one must aim for a job in his field as soon as he/she gets here..

It’s hard to quote numbers here. May be a 2000$ for a decent initial life?

thank a lot indira. u have given me a lot of confidence.

i view in forum, many suggest that living cost including rent comes around 4000 cad in a month.

    god bless you

    1. I would say a $4000 may include home mortgage amount, 2 cars for a family of 4 or more. $2000 is only for the initial months when you do not have a own home or a brand new car etc.,
