Decision Made :):):)

Our ECAS status has changed to ‘Decision Made’ with another line inside. Now it looks like,

I have been sick lately and did not get a chance to look into the ECAS for the past 10 days. I checked it today and Viola! it was ‘Decision Made’. This status usually changes after the Visas are stamped and so, i guess it’s good news for us :).

Our RPRF was en-cashed on 19th May 2011, as per the bank.

I truly hope this is good news and expect to receive the stamped passports this week.

Bring it on!

Indira Prabhakaran.

    Congratulations…..!

I’m sure you are almost on board that elusive maple leaf flight.
Good to know that ND is proceeding at a decent pace.

Indira, the last communication I got from the NDVO was the 2nd AOR dated 27 April with a simultaneous ECAS change of status to RBVO. However, over a month has passed and neither has the status changed to ‘In-process’ nor have I received med/RPRF/PPR request.

Do you think this is normal? When should I ideally be expecting the MR?

    1. Thanks Gautham :).. Waiting for that day!

NDVO does take some extra time for some applications without obvious reasons.. We have a handful of folks waiting for In Process for more than a month and some of them did receive the MR recently. So, please hang on.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. How much time taken to reach passport at maiing address after status changed t Decision Made… Please let me inform about the same.

        1. 2 weeks average.

        1. Thanks so much Rajesh :). It happens for few folks. The ECAS will be updated about the medicals at the time of ‘Decision Made’ status.

          Good luck to you 🙂

I got my medicals done on 26th May and sent my PP alongwith RPRF DD to NDVO on 20th June. My eCAS status is still “In Process” without “Medicals have been received” line being added. I don’t know what is the reason behind this delay. Had there been an issue with medicals, VO would’ve notified me about the tests which needs to be done again. I am pretty positive that everything is in place, just a bit delayed, that’s all.

Indira, Would like you to share your view on this.

    Thanks in advance.

Hey Folks, I am confused and dont know what to do need your help/suggestions. My eCAS status says decision made and medicals received. I also got my RPRF receipt from CHC Delhi on 8th Sept. I have not got my passport yet. I am anxious if they have lost or not posted or some kind of delay. Also for 2 weeks we were out of station. I checked with the post office but they say they have’nt received any registered post for me. I am writing enquiry to CHC Delhi but they are not responding. What to do?

    Thanks and appreciate your thoughts,
    Pravin

    1. For some people, it takes like 10 days to 15 days to get the passports back. If you have waited that long, it’s worth contacting the VO now.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    Disappeared again on Sep 29

    1. We are in Mississauga for now, Might think of relocating to a different place later. For now, Ottawa tops that list :). There are endless options for places to live in Canada and it depends on what exactly you are looking for.. you can do your research on that :). But for initial days, Toronto might be your best bet.

    Hi Indira,

As regards to landing preparations, Do we need to pay extra money for the PR card at the port of entry. Besides the PR card application form, B4/B form is there any supplementary form to be filled? Do let me know. Your reply would be very informative .

    Regards,
    Ken

    1. Nope, there is no extra application or application fee for the PR cards. Our CPR(Confirmation of PR) documents serve the purpose. For landing purposes, we only require the B4 forms.

    Dear Indira,

My husband told me about your website and blog and I decided to take a look at it for myself and I must say I reallllyyy like it. Thanks so much for your posts and writting about your exprience.

I am actually a born and raised Canadian and married my husband (from India) in India. After sponsoring him, it has now come to decision made.

Once it comes to this point, is it often approved for PR? What do I do if (by some stroke of bad luck) its rejected? (Although I’m sure it isn’t) I just worry too much.

Once it comes to decision made, is it often approved? On the CIC website now, it looks exactly like the post you’ve posted above and says the office will contact concerning their decision.

Any ideas on what I may be expecting?

Thanks again and sorry for the long boring post.

    Neesha

(P.S. I live in Brampton, maybe we could meet up for a cup of coffee sometime)

    1. Thank you so much Neesha :). It’s the wishes and good waves from people like you that sets the motivation for this blog!

Not to worry, that has to be a positive thingy :). If the words are exactly the same as I described, then it IS a positive decision. I heard that negative decisions have some different kind of wordings there.

For sure we can meet for a coffee sometime, I’m emailing you 🙂

What about the letter they sent on August 2010? Did they ask for some documents and have you submitted them? I’m afraid ‘Decision Made’ before medicals is usually negative, but this could be a BUG on the ECAS.

        Hi Indira,

I am doing the process thru wwics(imm. agency).

According to there ask i had submitted all the required documents by december 10th(that was the last date for document submission given by CHC,New delhi).

After that in January 2011 they have sent the letter to me with new CHC,New delhi file number(starting with UCI).In that letter the following details were given:
1.Full application package received at CHC,new delhi
2.New file number created and it is different from the first one at case processing center sydney,Nova scotia, canada)
3.10 months average processing time needed

Among the documents i had sumbitted 2 affidavits also were included .One for my spouse (becs at that time her masters degree cetificate was not with us)and second one for my job duties(job duties were well explained in experience letters but not very elaborated.so i have explained all those in affidavit)
After 2 months we have sent the original certificates of spouse too

Then after nothing was pending from my side. Now am working in africa.i have sumbitted all documents including PCC from here and India.

And am always in touch with the agency and keep on asking them is there anything pending from my side. They says nothing.

The only relaxation i had requested was regarding the detail job duties in exp letter(affidavit given). And even now i can get a detailed one in there format if required.Remaining all documnts were up to date and no pending documents.

The status was “APPLICATION RECEIVED” throughout these period and just 2 weeks before it become “DECISION MADE”.Still agency hasnt received any detail info. from CHC.

Please let me know what i can do if they reject the case and will they mention the reasons for rejection?

        1. Hi Ratheesh,

CIC will definitely give you an explanation as to why your file is rejected, IF it is rejected. WWICS! You just have to be behind their back to get info on your file. I wish you get a positive answer from CIC.

          Indira Prabhakaran.

            Hi Indira,

Thank you very much for this wonderful service you are doing to Canadian FSW community.

I know this has been asked umpteen times in this blog but it would assuage me if you think what this may imply. Here’s what I see after I click ‘Decision Made’ corresponding to my case:

            ——-
We received your application for permanent residence on June 20, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on October 15, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the New Delhi office. They are pending review.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on April 25, 2012.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

            ——-

Can you please for one more time share your thoughts on what this would imply. Here the difference between Ratheesh (previous poster) situation is that I see a line “Your application was reviewed and we started processing on April 25, 2012”. Even I am a WWICS candidate and applied thru’ New Delhi.

How much is the possibility of a technical issue/bug as oppose to a denial when we receive such a DM without Medicals? I would appreciate your response.

    Hi Indira,

Its great to read through your blogs, we have received our Medicals 2 weeks back and have undergone medicals just yesterday and we are planning to send our PPs, PCC, RPRF to NDVO by this weekend. Here are few our our queries.

    1. Usually from the date of Medicals how many days it takes for the CIC to make an assessment of our medicals and update the e-cas? Assuming that everything is +ve about the medical reports.
    2. How many days it takes to get the PR visas stamped from the date of medical assessment to the PR stamping?
    3. Is it required that we send our original medical receipts to the NDVO or just copies?
    4. Is it ok to courier our passports along with RPRF, PCCs through DHL or Fedex?

    Regards,
    Aelisha

    1. Hi Aelisha,

      1. It depends, sometimes it’s 15 days and sometimes the line appears just before ‘Decision Made’.
      2. Same answer, 15 days to 6 months is the average time for this
      3. Photocopies are fine.
      4. Yes, courier is the best way.

    Hi Indira,

Thanks for your comments, we need you confirmation on the belows points as well..

    1. RPRF is to be sent via draft in favor of “Receiver General of Canada”, kindly confirm.
    2. How many number of photographs are to be sent for each member including the principal applicant along with RPRF, PCC & PPs? There is no mention about this on the Request Letter from CHC. And whether the photographs are to be signed at the back with a DOB?

    Waiting for you reply.

    Thanks,
    Aelisha

    1. Hi Aelisha,

      1. If I am not wrong, the RPRF has to be payable to the Canadian High Commission – New Delhi.

      2. I dont think there is a need for photographs at this point, unless they have specifically asked for it. We did not send any at that stage.

    Hi!

I applied on April 19,2010.It was APPLICATION RECEIVED only on ECAS.Now its DECISION MADE , although I never been asked to submit MR.

So,kindly suggest me what I am to do and what might be the status of my application.
If it is a rejection, how should I proceed further.

    Regards

    Harmeet Singh

    1. Hi Harmeet,

      2 possibilities.
      1 – Bug in ECAS(technical error)
      2. They found your application unsatisfactory(Unlikely if they haven’t sent you any letters asking for more documentation after receipt of documents). In that case, they will send you a letter explaining why your app was declined and how you can overcome that situation. You can try sending a case specific inquiry into yoru application and ask them about their decision, if they have already made one in your case.

hi, Indira, i need your valuable advice. i always reading your post and i found it very helpful. i got my passport back with COPR, I gone through COPR ,AND find small mistake, in the COPR, there is 25 to 40 column, and in 32 column which is reflect medical validity, and it shows 22/12/12 in my wife’s COPR, while in my and my son’s COPR shows 30/12/12, we did our medical on 31/12/11, so it should be 30/12/12, which is incorrect in my wife’s COPR. my visa validity is 22/12/12. so i think they printed visa validity instead of medical validity. it can create any problem?.we will land before visa expire, so it is ignorable mistake or not? or i should inform to NDVO. all other information are correct.

    1. As long as you guys land before the visa and medicals expire, it should be fine..

i received File no on 21 Dec 2011 and file transferred to ND 0n 24 Jan 2012

    submitted PCC on 18 Jan
CHC advised to submit Medicals,RPRF,and PP for me and my family before 29 march 2012.
actually i am in ethiopia now and go to delhi on 21march for submission of the above said documents.22 march i have fixed medicals with DMP and expecting to send documents on 23rd March from delhi itself.

can i expect my PR Visa stamped and my passport back in 1 month? as i have to come back to ethiopia for completing my contract.

if i give them DD(is cheque Acceptable?) how to know whether it has been encashed or not?

i have applied thru Y Axis (Immigration agency,Hyderabad)and they say the result will be positive.
let me know it from you.

i am in dillema since i cannot come back to ethiopia till my PP will be there in NDVO.

    please suggest.

    Prakash

    1. Hi Prakash,

NDVO doesn’t have a fixed timeline for stamping visas. It could be anywhere from 15 days to 6 months and I would suggest you not to have any commitments during that time. I hope it will be a positive answer for you!

RPRF has to be a bank draft. You can follow with the bank for status.

    1. OK, I understand your wife has a masters, but does she have 17 years of full time education? Have you send the official transcripts for ALL her education? Did you get rejection for just that 1 point less? Either ways I would suggest you reapply for PR with revised documents as the federal review would cost money and time and there is no guarantee for a positive response.

File submitted to Nova Scotia on 10-jun-11.
    NOC- 2151 (Architect)
Up until yesterday i felt that my passports with visa should arrive soon.
But today i got a letter from British Council Delhi saying. “Notification of investigation of IELTS Result to Candidate”.
The contents of the letter are as follows,
” We have been notified by a receiving Organization that has received an IELTS test report form for you that they have a concern about the IELTS test report Form you have submitted with your application.
(There are some other wordings to but this is the important bit)
My Result was L:8, R:8, W:6.5, S:8, Overall :8.0. The mark sheet i sent was Genuine and so are my marks. Also i only sent this result to CIC and No where else.

Dear Indira can you please help me out here as all this seems so confusing to me.
1)Whey am i receiving this letter so late and at a stage when even my ECAS says decision made.
    2) It’s already been 7 days sine DM status change (could be a little more as i only checked ECas after a long while that day). What do you make of this Bizarre turn of events and do you anticipate any further delays.

Looking for a Response from your side.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rahul

    1. Did you check the date of the inquiry on the letter? Must be earlier and not very recent. If you sent your medicals, RPRF(encashed) and passports already, DO NOT WORRY :). It can take upto 2 weeks to receive passports after DM. May be one or two days more.. Please wait.

        Hi Indira,

        Thanks for the reply.
Well the letter from British council did net mention any date of inquiry. I called them up and they said that the inquiry must be recent. They also said they will revert to me with all the detail on mail Tuesday. ( I sent a mail to them on Saturday and they take about 48 hrs to revert).

Also shared the same issue on canadavisa .com forums. Getting help there as well but know one know for sure.
Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t Most Delhi residents get their ppr within 3-4 days after ‘DM’ ?

Also Can you please be kind enough to answer me two things:

1)have you yet to hear anyone who got refusal at such a stage? Just curious.
2)Also is it possible that the NDVO has reopened my entire file and are even checking work ex, Degree etc.
All my documents are genuine so i don’t have any fears, but all this would mean a hell lot of time drained up and at this stage that can be such a killing wait.

PS. I have very little Foreign travel History and haven’t stayed abroad for more than 6 months and the PCC from India had no issues as well.

My passage so far has been smooth so far but now i’m facing this situation.

Well for now i’ll take your advise and wait a day or two. Then its Caips or Csi.

        Also my case in detail:
        My Noc is 2151 (Architect)
File submitted to Nova Scotia on Jun-11
        AOR from NDVO 15-12-11.
NDVO started processing my file on 20-01-12 ( as per ecas)
Got request letter for pp, med and rprf on 27-01-12( Letter dated 24-1-12)
Submitted my file with previous passports on 9-02-12.
Status change to “Decision made’ on 29-03-12. ( Could be earlier also as i checked my ecas after a long while that day)
Received letter from British council on 5-4-12.(Letter dated 4-4-12).

The last line on my ecas is ‘Medicals have been received’

The line ‘A decision has been made and a visa officer will contact you’ is not there.
and there is no address as well. (Although i’m led to believe that these things don’t matter that much)

        Thanks and Regards.

        1. 1. No, after RPRF is encashed, we are yet to know of a refusal.

          2. Possible, but that only means a delay.

          Good Luck.

          Indira Prabhakaran.

            STATUS UPDATE

Date of RPRF draft encashment: 03-Mar-12

            Reply from British council:
Met the Ielts center Administrator today: They had an issue with the photograph on TRF being old.
They have confirmed to me that the Marks are exactly the same on TRF( Submitted to CHC New Delhi) and on the online records.

The were convinced with my case after my meeting with them and they said they will respond positively to the concerned party within this week.

            But,
After meeting them i strongly felt that IELTS department had initiated this check themselves.I Don’t think the NDVO had anything to do with it. ( Just a speculation)
The British council must have informed the NDVO of this update some time 1-2 weeks back. (As The purpose of taking the exam clearly mentioned me saying ‘Immigration to Canada’ on the application for ielts form.)
But this last part is my speculation only .

Well whatever the case it seems to be solved as of now. Lets wait now and keep the fingers crossed.

            Also,
Do you think i can establish some evidence and prove ielts was at fault and take some legal action for this delay?
I mean if they had a problem with my photograph they should have told me while taking the exam and not NOW. I shouldn’t have to pay the price for their incompetence. Right?

            Hi Indira,

It’s been over a month since my decision made status.
            RPRF encashed-3-mar-12
An extra line appeared after ‘Medicals have been received’ on 24-apr-12- ‘A Decision has been made on your application and a visa office will contact you for the same’
            No address still.
I’m sure it’s all good but why haven’t i received my passport yet? I stay in Delhi and I’m sure it doesn’t take 1 month to deliver passports after DM.
What do you make of it?

            Thanks and Regards.

i wanted to check , my husband applied for spouse sponsored visa for canada(he is a PR there) on 16th jan. we got sponsorship approval on 16th march.. and file got transferred to CHC -delhi, i got AOR from CHC-D on 27th march, also asking for passport… i am really getting restless.. just wanted to check, what’s the timeline one should keep in mind, while thinking of receiving visa.. i submitted my medicals along with application.. medical was done on 8th dec( they say its valid for 6 months).

    pls advice.
    many thanks!

    1. If the visa is a PR, then the timelines for stamping of the passports are the same with NDVO. 15 days to 6 months. Please wait.

        Dear Indira
Whoopie! I got my visas …thx for the moral support :))~

Now other anticipations come into picture…
1.Is it true that as a PR we r not eligible to buy a house for a yr or so… something like we shd earn our credit.
        2. What are the “must bring” things from India? I have 3 kids 17, 12,8.
        3. B4 forms have limited columns. Can we attach annexures?

Dear I must say that u r a samaritan and ur answers bring a lot of boost
        Many thanx
i shall keep troubling u for further Qs. Pl bear …
        Rajan

        1. Congrats!

          1. You can buy a home anytime, PR or not doesn’t matter. All they ask is some down payment and a good credit history. So, come here and start to build a good credit history asap. In 6 months, you will have the sufficient credit history to apply for a mortgage :).

          2. We get anything and everything here. Just pack whatever you can, specially the ones that you will need for the first month.

          3. Yes, you can attach annexures. Did you read the post on how to make B4 forms?

I dent them the next day it self. I got a call from them the next day also, and whn I told I hav already sent them they just disconnected. THey asked me when I was planning to fly, and I replied end of june. they told will send it before that. Till this date no response from them. I hav sent a fax, case specific enquiry and an e-mail asking them about my passports, but no reply. I was to travel on June 26th and yest i again sent a mail stating that I hav incurred financial loss too as I cudnt travel on the said date. Is there any way to just know about the status of my docs? I am really worried.

I got my visa stamped recently and now planning on landing.

    1. Do you know any other blog / website which focuses specifically on arriving in Canada and life thereafter? Any facebook, internet groups you could suggest for networking among people coming for similar background?
    2. Do I need to carry the funds which we declared at the time of travel, do they ask for funds while we are entering Canada in both cases of entering Canada without Job and with a job?

It has been more than three months that I have submitted my passport along with medical and draft of landing fees but didn’t hear anything back from them yet.Even I checked with bank that they have deducted my money and cleared draft before two months. So when I will get my and my husband’s passport. I see it as a quit strange beacuase, I had submitted my medicals , RFPF fee in FEB 2013 and my passport in June 2013. Can someone please suggest.. Is there something to worry or will my passport be returned with the visa issuance..

    Hi Indira,

First of all new year greetings to you.

I have applied under Arranged Employment (FSW) category, we have been asked to send Medicals & Passports on same date (28th Oct’ 13) and we done medicals and sent passport by 13th Nov’13. Online status is showing as Medicals Received, it has been more than 1 1/2 months still there is no update from CIC (new delhi).

Typically how many months CIC will take to complete process for the cases like medicals & passports requested on same date. And what exactly CIC will do after receiving the medicals for arranged employment category process.

Thank you in advance for the information.

    Hello Indira,

I recevied remedical request on 20 September 2013, and I have done emedicals (as they didn’t send any forms) during October 2013, send the passports on 27 October 2013. Until now the status is “In Process”. My category is FSW1. Probably when shall I expect the stamped passports?

    Thanks,

    Dear all ,

Read it carefully very usefull information to all …….

IF everything goes well, you will receive a Medical Call. IF an interview goes well and you managed to satisfy the visa officer, you will get the same result. At this stage, your ecas will still read “In Process”.

IN CASE something goes wrong with or without interview, you will get “Decision Made” at your ECAS which means youre no more eligible for PR processing and you will get a rejection with a letter mentioning the reasons.

After you receive Medical Call, you will have to undergo Medical Examination at your local DMP [Find your local DMP HERE]. You and your dependents have to satisfy the visa officer that you are medically fit to be admissible to Canada. Once your results have been received by the Visa Office, your ecas will read, “We have received your medical results on mm-dd-yyyy” and the status will remain “In Process”.

You or one of your dependent may get a re-medical exam if there’s a doubt about something that they think need to be reverified.

The next step would be [and not limited to] Passport Request, any additional or updated documents, new Police Clearance Certificate etc and Right of Permanent Resident fee [RPRF] which is $490 for each Principal Applicant and Spouse [if applicable]. You do not have to pay RPRF for your children.

Once everything is done and your payment cashed, your status will be changed to “Decision Made” and the address will be updated with a Canadian address & you will receive your Passports & Confirmation of Permanent Residence [COPR] within 4 Weeks.

    OK BEST OF LUCK!!!!!

    Thanks
    Subegh Gill

I applied for PR for Canada in 2006. Thereafter I received a letter from CIC that my application will processed in 48 to 54 months. While checking the status online for my application message is shown that application has been received and processing started.

Suddenly in 2012, the status changed from “in process” to “decision made”, “processing officer will contact you shortly.” After some time status of my application is totally disappeared and it shows the message that your record not found. I did not receive any communication from CIC. What it means??/
