Latest on New Delhi Visa Office!

For those of you wondering what’s happening with the New Delhi Visa Office recently, they are working too hard to send out the AORs and Medical requests :) . One thing to note is the postal delays for as much as 20 days to get them delivered.

Stats for New Delhi applicants to date:

  • 90% of applications to the CIO have received a PER or a NER.
  • More than 50% of applications with a PER have received an AOR from the Visa Office.
  • About 25% of applicants have received their medicals, RPRF and PPR from the Visa Office.
  • 3 applicants have sent their medicals and passports for visa stamping to the CHC, New Delhi :) .

Well, we are still waiting for our AOR from the Visa Office:). Hope to send out the next update on our application soooooon:)

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Any idea abt processing time for the FSW cases applied after 30th june 2010????

          2. Indira

They usually take 15 days to reply for a query. Again, the timelines can vary. The least we heard is 6 months and it can go upto a year.

            Thanks,

            Indira Prabhakaran.

There’s an idea, I tried it & it worked..
Send them the Passport Clearance Certificate.. I got communication from them in just a week after sending the PCC.
Try it, seems sending PCC is simply a gentle reminder to them…& if you still don’t hear from them, you can try contacting them…I haven’t contacted them more than once in this entire application process.
          Best of Luck!

        3. Mihir Pandya

Hi It seems you are waiting since long… But recently I had inquire about my application and they revert me with proper reason… You can also enquire about your status or file processing status with them…

2011-2016, states that there will be a labour shortage of qualified applicants for IT related jobs in Canada within the next few years. The report was released by the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC).

According to the report, over 106,000 IT related positions will become available between 2011 and 2016 in Canada; however there may not be enough people to fill those positions. The report has also indicated that the most shortages will occur for positions which require five or more years of experience.

In order to address the concerns regarding labour shortages, the report is suggesting five recommendations:
    Post-secondary students should be encourages to take IT-related courses;
    Foreign-education workers should be better integrated into Canada’s IT workforce;
Making post-secondary education more cross-disciplinary; and
Making the IT industry more accessible for various skill levels and diverse employees.

Another important suggestion made by the report is to bring more foreign skilled workers to Canada. The IT industry will be looking for skilled workers with many different skills, rather than a specific technical expertise.

The Government of Canada has not indicated how these shortages will affect their immigration strategies. Canadavisa.com will report on any changes to the Canadian immigration programs once they have been announced.

    1. Indira

      Hi Kevin,

Unsure if you are a NDVO applicant, if yes, you can expect the medicals in 15 days time. If not, please refer to the international tracker for timelines.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  4. Neelam

    Hi

My ecas shows in process from feb 2011 but i haven’t receive any medicals or any communication from new delhi embassy i applied in Nov. 2009 for pr under fsw category. I want to know how much more time i have to wait? my application is postive please let me know?

    Thanks

    Neelam

    1. Indira

      Hi Neelam,

Unfortunately it takes longer for the Pre June 2010 applicants as a lot of stuff are involved here. The VO has to do the eligibility review, calculate points, assess the application with selection factors, do the documentation and background checks etc.,. There are some applicants in your queue that i know of, so not to worry yet. May be you will have to wait a bit longer. Usually it takes around 4 months on average to get medicals after In Process in this category.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. Neelam

thanks so that means our wait is near to be over because they says We reviewd your case and start processing on feb 2011 its almost 4 months please tell me its positive when in process shows in cas

        Neelam

  5. Kevin

    Thanks for the reply indra
I am in NDVO , i filled my application on 15th february 2011. As u said for me till now the enquiry from VO has not happened regarding the background verification (call to my employer)etc . do they call ? and when i can i expect my Medical and Passport request … Indira .?

    1. Indira

You can expect the medicals in about 15 days to 1 month from the date they start processing as per your ECAS.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  6. Rajesh

We had dispatched our documents to CIC on 18/09/2010, the File number & acknowledgement letter received from CIC on 27/01/11. And they forwarded the application to visa office in NEW DELHI for further processing. We are waiting for the further communication from them. When can we expect ?

    1. Indira

      Hello Rajesh :)

You can expect a snail mail(2nd AOR) from the NDVO soon.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  7. Dear Indra

My Ecas status is still on “receivied by Visa office” status
I got my PER on 30th march 2011 and 2nd AOR by snail mail (post ) on 30th April 2011. Do i need to enquire why its not changed to in process status . and only if the Ecas status is updated to” In Process” then only we can expect our medical and passport request . is this right indira ?
please correct me indira if i my expectation is wrong .

    thanks
    Kevin

    1. Indira

      Hi Kevin,

I’m not sure if you are a New Delhi applicant. If yes, please read below:

ECAS usually changes to In Process before medicals, BUT for a few applicants it changed only after they received medicals.

You will have to wait until the ECAS changes to in process, i do not think VO will respond to such queries.

      Good luck with your application,

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  8. Kevin

    Dear Indira

As you know one of the guy s VISA DENIED for the NOC 0631 ,for the reason of wrongly mentioning the NOC code of Supervisory role .
Even my applications also i made both the roles in same NOC CODE 0631 . So please suggest me what to do before the VO does VISA DENIED for me .. please suggest indira immediately .

    thanks
    INDIRA

    1. Indira

Oops, did you use a consultant too? If yes, please contact them immediately and ask them for clarification. If no, you will have to wait and see what the VO says and then respond. The response would be the same as suggested for Dibs.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  9. Neelam

    Dear Indira,

Thanks for reply my question is that now 4 months likely to be completed we can hope for medical in first week of june and after how many days later decision made comes after in process.

Mam i am very much worried these days b’coz a thread appears that all pre june 2010 get rejection letter please tell me the correct thing

    Neelam

    1. Indira

It takes a while for them to process.. Not that they will reject you if they take long time to process.. Please hang on..

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  10. chaitra

    hi indira
its a great blog u have started and congratulations for the good news!!
i have applied under noc code 3113 only recently
    my status is as follows
    application sent- 7th April 2011
1st AOR sent by CIC- 10th May 2011
    e-cas status- CIO ERC
I had alook at the tracker and it seems nowadays the timelines are much shorter than before, in that case i should be recieving medical request and passport request by june end or july 1 st week
but my main problem is that i have to go out of the country for 3 weeks or more in 2nd week of july till mid august, its v important and i cant postpone it,
from what i have understood the 45 days period for medicals, PCC, PP is the time duration for all these documents to recieve NDVO is it?
even if i manage to finish by medical tests before i leave and cm back by the 45 days period it may be too close to the deadline.

another clarification i want is to know is should i apply for PCC right now because if i recieve the request for PCC while iam abroad i may not be able to do it if iam applying for it from passport office.

If iam applying from police commissioner office it is possible for my folks to do it even while iam away, so what do u suggest.

Another thing is my husband has lived in different parts of the country since he has turned 18, does it mean he needs to collect PCC from all these places or only from his permanent address mentioned on his passport i.e., bangalore.

thanx in advance and wishing u all the best for your dream life in Canada
please add me on the NDVO tracker
    regards
    chaitra

    1. Indira

      Hello Chaitra,

NDVO does accept to extend the deadlines on genuine requests. You may want to contact them.

No, to apply for a PCC, the person must be present physically.

One PCC works for entire nation :)

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

My PR is thru. I have not used agent. Based on CHC, New Delhi request i posted my passports thru Bluedart. As per Bluedart tracking, they were delivered on 27 May 2011 at 0955hrs. My medical is valid only upto 16 June 2011. CHC had promised to receive the passports even i hand carry them, and wok in two days of time, however i posted due to lack of time. Till today 3rd June 2011 i have not recvd them. I have following mind boggling issues, please help me.

    1. The CHC, never acknowledged the receipt of passports? How safe are they when sent thru courrier?
    2. Will the CHC, give priority of working on them due to short medical validity?
    3. Will the CHC exchange any communication after they have done working on my passports?

Thanks if some accurate inforamtion is given.

    T Satyanarayana

    1. Indira

      Hello :)

I’m not sure I understand your situation clearly. Are you waiting for your passports with visa? And you submitted them on 27th May? If yes, they usually take 20 to 60 days to stamp the passports and return.

      1. they do not send any confirmation. Courier is safe.
      2. No, AFAIK.
      3. No. it’s just the ECAS ‘Decision Made’ or passports by post.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    hi indira
i have applied for PR IN MARCH 2010 and i received my file no from nova scotia on 27 may.after that i submitted my complete application along with all document at new delhi and then i got my file no after one month in which they said they contact us with in three month but now nine months are over and we still not received our medicals or any other information regarding my case.kindly let me know how much more time it will take.i shall be very thankful to you.
    thnking you

    1. Indira

Hello, unfortunately it takes 2 years or more these days for a pre June 26, 2010 application. You will have to wait a bit more.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. avninder kahlon

        hello mam
i applied in skilled worker category in march as a registered nurse.couple of months ago i sent an email. visa officer after that they have changed my file status from RBVO TO IN PROCESS.how much more time it will take for medicals.

          http://indiraprabhakaran.com/blog/timelines/

          Indira Prabhakaran.

  13. T Satyanarayana

    Madam,

Thanks for your reply. My case is bit different, though you caught me right that i am waiting for my PP with visa stamp in it.

My case is Federal Govt PR skilled category.

I have been guided by CHC, ND to attend the medical and send the passports. I have done medical in June 2010, the passports were not submitted, because my status was already NRI. Based on my request, the CHC allowed me to submit in person at CHC on 18th April 2011. They had also committed, that they shall finalise the case in two days after the deposit of passports. However, i could not do it again based on their request dated 2nd May, mine and my family members passports were submitted to CHC, ND on 27 May 2011 by Bluedart.

I was under the impression, they will honor the two days of their commitment to finalise the case and return my passports. The medical is getting over by 16th June 2011. Passports were not received. I am just counting the hrs, how to do it? I shall loose the chance for ever, if they don’t work fast. What may happen in my case? Please suggest.

What do you mean by AFAIK?
My status in ECAS shaows as ‘IN PROCESS’ (A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision. ) since last a year.

    Thanks for your time madm.

    Regards,

    T Satyanarayana

    1. Indira

Ok, AFAIK is ‘As far as I know’.

Your case is a bit different and so I suggest you contact the NDVO directly for the status. Worst cases they will ask you to do the medicals again, incase it expires before the visas are stamped.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  14. N Lakhani

    Dear Indira,

My application status shows Received by visa office(new delhi). I had send my application to nova scotia sydney on 7th jan 2011 and received my first file number on 14th march 2011. It is 8th june 2011 now and am near to 3 months before I heared anything from the visa office.
Can you tell me, how long it can take to change the status to in-process or visa office eligibility review complete? and after in-process status, when can I expect call for the medicals.
Just to keep you informed, that I have submitted all the documents including PCC, on 7th jan 2011 itself.
    Thanks,

    N Lakhani

    Thanks

    1. Indira

      Hello Lakhani,

It might take some extra time for some folks as we see the trend with NDVO. Please hang on, your day will come :)

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    1. Indira

Unfortunately it takes more than 2 years now to process the Pre-June 2010 applicants and so you might have to wait a bit longer :( . Might take as long as 6 to 8 months after you received your AOR from VO.

    1. Indira

I suggest you send a case specific inquiry to NDVO.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  21. chaitra

    hi indira
i recieved my PER on 10/05/11
The mailing address in ecas shows an error, I notified the NDVO of this error in the case specific enquiry form on 13/5/11 and after about 2 weeks the error was corrected. However in the case specific form i typed my pincode wrongly (stupid error on my part!!!!).
I again notified the NDVO of the error and even apologised for my mistake on the case specefic form, 1 month back and then even by fax and courier about 3 weeks back but the ecas continues to show the same error in pincode.
    what should i do???
do they send the MR by email also or only by post because this pincode error would mean the letter could go to an entirely different locality in the city.
please let me know wat should i do?

    1. Indira

Try sending them a fax and a physical letter stating the change of pin code. They only send the MR by registered post.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

Sometimes NDVO take more time to stamp the visas and return the passports. As of now, the timelines are anywhere between 20 days to 6 months. I know a person waiting for 8 months with hope though.

Please keep your cool and hopes :)

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

Well, for the Pre-June 2010 applications, they are taking more time than expected and it’s currently 2 years for the whole process. You might want to wait a bit more.

      Thanks,

    Hi Mam

Today in my e-case status Only name of the applicant shown but address of my Representative not shown and status shows “In Process” what does it means.

    Neelam

    1. Indira

Neelam, It officially means nothing. But there is a talk/belief that once your address disappears from ECAS, you can expect some communication from VO.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  26. balwinder

    Resp madam

    1. Indira

      Hello :)

You may want to send a case specific inquiry into your application. I wouldn’t worry as such with the timelines, but it might be a good idea to send a CSI.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    1. Indira

It takes anywhere between 15 days to 6 months for the passports to be stamped and returned.. You are almost there :) . Please wait.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. raj

        hi again,

sorry i posted the wrong dates. i applied in october 2010 and got medicals done 4th july 2011.my rprf got encashed on 6th july, 2011. Is it a good sign.

        Thanks

        1. Indira

RPRF en-cashment itself is a good sign :) We are yet to hear a single case from NDVO, where the RPRF was encashed and the visa rejected. However, the timelines after that may differ.

          Thanks,

          Indira Prabhakaran.

          1. raj

            hi,
as i told you i am done with medicals and rprf got encashed but still my e-cas is not updated yet with MEDICALS RECEIVED. I am worried.

            Raj,

As indicated to other folks, there is no definite time for the return of the passports. It can take anywhere between 15 days to 6 months.

    1. Indira

It depends, usually after verifications, they send in the medicals within days. Or otherwise they contact you with the results of the verification within days. Unsure about your case. Please send a case specific inquiry into your application.

See I am pre june applied in 2009 Nov and in the month of May i send case specific enquiry but no response from that side (NDVO) should i again send the query

    1. Indira

Yes, no harm in sending the query again. Also try sending them a physical letter by courier, just in case.

    1. Indira

There are no hard and fast rules for the processing times and so I cannot comment on this. It all depends on your file and the visa officer.

The average time is 2 years and it could be from 6 months to as long as 3 years..

      Thanks,

    thanks

    1. Indira

      Hello Mandy,

If your RPRF is encashed, it’s highly unlikely that there will be another round of employment checks. So, I assume you are safe.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    Hi, Indira
I submitted application for PR (under family class) to CHC New Delhi on end of this July 2011 and I am waiting for the medical request letter. Could u please tell me how long it could take to get the medical request letter from CHC New Delhi?

    1. Indira

Sorry, I have limited idea on the family class thing and I’m unsure of the timelines for the same.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    Hi Indira,

You,ve got an amazing blog. I;m happy i found it. Here are my application details. Its been almost 5 months since i hv sent my medicals and rprf fees and i havn,t received any response from CHC. Can you tell how more time will it take?
    Details
“We received your application for permanent residence on September 29, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on February 4, 2011. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on March 9, 2011.

    Medical results have been received.”

    thanks

    1. Indira

      Hello Kamal,

      Thanks so much :)

The timeline for stamping of the visas is anywhere from 15 days to 6 months. There are few folks who waited longer for 8 months. My opinion is, when the medicals received line appears already, it’s not far away. Any day can be a good day for you from now on :)

      Good luck.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      Thanks,

  41. Surinsin

    Hi Indira,

I really appreciate your prompt reply on all the queries. I also have a situation if you can guide me please.
I had received file number in Jan 2010. I completed my medicals in Nov’2010 but I have to hold my X Rays due to pregnancy. Last week I submitted all passports of me, my husband and baby as requested by CHC for stamping.
Now I need to go to Australia for project in Oct first week. Please let me know if I can request CHC to expedite the process. Also can I personally collect passports from CHC to avoid any postal delays. Can I get the exact date when I will get my passports.

    Please Suggest. Thanks a lot.

    1. Indira

      Hello,

Unfortunately there is no way CIC will expedite the stamping of the passports whatsoever. If you insist, they will return the passports without stamping. I suggest you wait as you are almost there. No, you cannot collect the passports in person, as far as I know.

Good luck and I hope you receive your passports in time.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  42. Nira

    Hi Indra:

Can you please confirm the timeline for receiving stamped passport. How long does it take from the day you submit your passport to the new delhi visa office?

From my understanding, I though it takes 6 months from the day they receive your applicated or is it from the day they start to process it? please clarify.

    Thanks

    1. Indira

      Hi Nira,

It can take anywhere from 15 days to 6 months after they receive your medicals and passports.

    Hi Indira,

    I appreciate your blog.
threads in blog is saying that passport stamping takes anywhere between 15 days to 6 months. But nowhere is it menitoned the overall time range for post june 2010 applications. I request you to let me know the same.

The official site says 15 monthswhich includes receiving PR as well which is after landing in Canada.

I have submitted my medicals and passport on request that was received on 19 July 2011 by NDVO . Got a physicall letter of RPRF encashed on 16 August. As on date the overall time gone is 328 days. Even in such cases should we wait for upto 6 months and then write to NDVO.

    Regards
    Usha

    1. Indira

      Hi Usha,

The average time might be from 9 to 11 months. It doesn’t matter which stream you applied, after medicals and passports are received, every application goes through same stuff. So, you might want to want a bit more.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. A Usha TP

        Hi Indira,

Thanks a lot….wish you all the best and bon voyage

        I have 2 questions:

Question 1: When the RPRF is en-cashed would it be right to understand that the medicals are verified and found to be fine. Please do share, if you have knowledge of what happens / is the procedure after the medicals and passports are sent.

Question 2: Along with Medicals, passport and RPRF I had send the copy of my appointment order of the job I changed recently. However by then I had not received the relieving letter from my previous company (it would take another 2 weeks and I did not want to delay). Now I am a little worried if that may cause delay in stamping….would you suggested me to send the copy of relieving letter now????

        Regards
        Usha

        1. Indira

          Hello :)

          1. Yes, it is safe to assume medicals was received and fine. Security and criminal checks begin now.

          2. dont see a need for that unless they contact and ask for that now.

          Thanks,

          Indira Prabhakaran.

          1. A Usha TP

            Thanks for the reply Indira.

In the spread sheet and threads I observed that a few have received the stampled visa but the status in e-cas remains ‘in process’. Is this normal that major cases ecas status doesn’t change?

    Dear Indira,

I was visiting online and found your blog and and your valuable feedback.
Could you please have a look at the below query and help me understand.

    Category – FSW – submitted to CIO Sydney,NovaScotia on 23 April 2010
Received File Number from CIO Sydney,NovaScotia on 10 August 2010
Submitted 2 File to New Delhi Consulate on 23 September 2010
Received Receipt Notice from New Delhi Office on 29 September 2010

Since then i followed with them once and received a reply on 24 May 2011
“Before your application can be placed in processing, our office will make a final determination as to whether or not you are eligible for processing.
If your application is not eligible for processing, you will receive a letter informing you of the reasons for the determination as well as a refund.

If your application is determined to be eligible for processing, processing will begin on a priority basis.
Once your application has been assessed, you will receive further instructions from this office. ”

I just checked online on the cic.gc.ca website and the case status is “in process”

With the new post/pre june division of classes, i would need an insight as to which category do i fall in and an approx timeline to my case getting approved.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards
    Sahil

You fall into the Pre June category and the processing times are a bit longer. You might want to wait a bit more..

Thanks for the advice… Does VO send AOR by India post or courier? I’m concerned because if its through India post i would not be able to collect it as i leavee for work at 11 everyday ( Mond to Frida)… Is it recommended to check with our post office:)…

Anyway, when are you planning to fly.. wish you a prosperous and blessed life in Canada…

Very nice blog and very thoughtfull of you to answer the questions. I read the threads on pre june 2010 and the delays. I sent in my initial app to Nova Scotia sometime in May 2010. In a letter dated Sep 2010, I got my app number with request for docs. I sent in My docs in Jan 2011.
I have applied under teaching instructor category.

1.Do i also come under the pre june category
2.Is the delay same for all occupations or are some occupations faster.

    Looking forward to your answer

    Raj

    1. Indira

      Hi Raj,

Yes your application comes under the pre June category.

Nope, I don’t think there could be any delay in line with the occupations.

I am Sanket from Vadodara, Gujarat, I had applied for FSW Immigration in April through an agent in vadodara from Nova Scotia office , Sydney. I got a Message from Centralized Intake office that my application has received Positive Final Determination and shall be transferred to Visa Office in Delhi. this coresspondence was received on 07th June 2011. I was told by my agent that now i would receive a mail from DVO but since then there has been no communication from DVO.

Kindly guide me as to what steps should i take now.

Thanks for replying actually i got my PER from CIO Nova scotia (sydney) in june 2011. so it has already been 4 months moreover i would like to know whether there is a possibility of getting medicals directly without getting any communication from DVO prior to medicals.

          2. Indira

Again it depends, they may ask for further documentation from your side, or an interview or simply send the medicals. It’s up to the visa officer’s discretion :) .

i would further like to know what is the time given after stamping of visas to first time landing on port of immigration. moreover i & my wife have applied together so is it necessary for both of us to land in canada at the same time or is it ok if my wife joins me after sometime.

Time for landing is 1 year from your medicals date and not the visas date. The Principal applicant has an option to either land alone or with family. But the family cannot land first without the PA.

            Hi! Indira;

I have received my medicals. with medicals i have also received a letter for invitation to CIIP (Canadian Immigrant Integration Programme). I would like to have your suggestion whether its worth attending as i am in vadodara and programme is scheduled in Delhi.

Hope to have a reply soon:)

            Regards
            Sanket

          7. Indira

            Hi Sanket,

Yes, I would definitely suggest CIIP for ALL immigrants. You can get answers to most of your questions and more useful information and contacts there.

            Dear Indira;

my port of destination is Toronto. If i want to move to any other part of Canada for work purposes after arriving. what is the minimum stay required in Port of Destination before being able to move out.

Once arrived in Toront what things should be on top of my priority List and how to go about completing them.

Kindly throw some light on these topics it would be of great help to me. Also if possible give me your mail ID

            Thanks & Regards

          9. Indira

You are free to move anywhere within Canada, as soon as you land as a PR! The first basic things are SIN cards, bank accounts, jobs etc., Some of my posts explain how to complete the above stuff. You can email me using the contact form in this blog :)

    Hi indira,
Me and huband were submitted application on November 2009 in Sydney Australia. We received file number on feb 1st week 2010 and we completed medical this Aug17t and paid the right amount of Permanent residence fees last week of august. But still we didn’t get any updates from them. Can you help me regarding this matter?

    1. Indira

I just replied to your query elsewhere :)

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    Dear Indira

I recevied my passports back visa stamps and COPR within 20 days. Your blog has helped me lot in tracking the system.

One more thing i want to ask from you

In my COPR, the name of my wife and daughter is mentioned as accompanying memebers, but on the COPR of my wife and my Daughter only ‘My name’ is mentioned as accompaning spouse.

Can it create some problem while landing or the the visa office writly prepared our COPRs.

and keep yours fingers moved on ur computer.

    Regards

    GAB

    1. Indira

      Hey Gab :)

Congrats and we had the same thing on our CPRs. Dont you worry :) As long as the other details are fine, you are good to land :)

      Happy Landing!

    Dear Indira,
I got my case number in 15 July 2010 and sent full documents in 2010 October 1.The visa office sent confirmation letter then.It is informed Delhi Visa office processes visas in 15 months.I am a college instructor and have applied as a federal skilled worker.when will i get information for medical examination?I have not got any information yet.and do they ask us to resend missing documents or do they just deny visa if some documents are missing in the parcel.I would be thankful to u if i get information on that.

    1. Indira

      Hello,

Unfortunately you belong to the Pre – June 26, 2010 category and it takes 2 years or more for the processing. I suggest you send a case specific inquiry into your application and see where your application is, with the queue.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      Hi Mariyam,

I guess you will have to send a case specific inquiry into yoru application and ask for an update. I’m unsure fo the timelines for other visa offices.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. mariyam

Thank you for ur reply, we asked our agent to send a enquiry to them regarding our matter.

Thanx Indira. Can u please tell me how long do the take to send information to the applicant for medical request?

    1. Indira

It depends, anywhere from 15 days to 6 months again.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. khagendra prasad bhandari

        Thanx Indira,
I suppose I could not ask my question very clearly. My question is,how many months does the visa office generally take to ask the applicant for medical once they get full documents?I hope I ill get the reply soon.
many many thanks to you for your reply.

        1. Indira

OK, for Pre-Juners, it might take up to 6 months for this, while it will only take half the time for those applications received after June 26, 2010. This is because, half of the job is done at the CIO for the post Juners.

          Indira Prabhakaran.

    Hi mam

    1. Indira

Well, things are moving and I hope you receive the visas soon. One of my friends received visas after 2 months of the same situation. Patience is the key :)

    Hi,

I applied in March 2010 and forwarded my full docs to NDVO in August 2010 got the AOR in September( If it is the second file number). I applied for CAIPS in Oct 2011 which says File F’WD to FRR 11 August 2011.

What does that means. Is it the date to work on my file.
If yes then its been 2 months now why they havent yet contacted me.

    Please respond.

    Thanks.

    1. Indira

Sometimes, the processing/file review time is more than a couple of months. Patience is the key :)

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  65. shagufta

    Hi Indira,

I have sponsored my parents. they were requested to send passport , medical . in september we received a letter asking to pay rprf fees. i paid that and last week i received a letter confirming payment has been processed from mississauga office and mississauga office have informed the visa office. after this step would you know usually how long it takes for visa to be issued.? if you have any idea.

    thanks indira. would appreciate it.

    1. Indira

I guess it shouldn’t take long. May be a couple of weeks?

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. shagufta

        thanks indira for ur response.

i also received an email from new delhi visa office last week that they have received the information on rprf payment and they will forward it to relevant department for their action.

would you know what does this mean? if you have any idea

thanks indira for ur response again:)

        1. Indira

So, they have received the RPRF already? If yes, all you have to do is wait a bit and use that time to research on your upcoming move :) Good luck to you.

          Indira Prabhakaran.

          1. shagufta

            Hi Indira,

    hello mam
myself is engineering lecturer applied in june 2010,received first file no in sep2010 and send full documents in dec2010 and received 2nd aor jan2011.so my query is its already 10 months passed my ecas status remain documents received and review pending. what does that mean??how long to have the medical request ??
And secondly do i have to consider myself to apply into other category thats manitoba under family support as my aunt lives in manitoba
so please suggest me what to do
stay with federal pr case or
    apply to manitoba
    looking forward to your answer
    cheers
    Thanks

    1. Indira

I guess you are a Pre June era applicant and so there is an obvious delay in the processing. I’m guessing it makes sense for you to apply for the Manitoba PNP, but do not withdraw your federal application before they ask you to do so. Sometimes, it’s worth trying an additional path;)

      Good luck!

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  67. GAGAN

    HI INDIRA,
I am pre june applicant, i applied in march 2010, sent full docs in aug 2010 and my file transfer date was 9 june 2010.My file status was showing RBVO SINCE AUG 2010. But surprisingly after 15 months my status changed to IN PROCESS WITH RBVO DETAILS INSIDE on 18 oct 2011. I just want to know whether it is a positive sign or just chc gave pre -juners a just LOLLY POP. And if it is a +ve sign then what is the next procedure and how long it will take to get medicals? please please reply me i am eagerly waiting for your response.

    Thanks a lot.

    1. Indira

Yes, it’s definitely a positive sign. This means, your file is already dusted and on the table :) . You might receive the medicals within 3 months, but can be as early as a month too..

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  68. anushka

    Hi Indira,

How long does it take to get ppr after medicals?
Does it take the same amount of time to preform background checks and verify medicals for all applicants, or are processing times different for applicants from different years? eg. I am a 2009 applicant who submitted my medicals 2 days ago. Will my processing time differ from, say, a 2010 applicant?

I would really appreciate your help.

    Thank you for your time.

    1. Indira

The average time for stamping of the visas is anywhere from 15 days to 6 months and there are no reasons for any delay on this other than the security and criminal checks. Irrespective of the application timelines, after we submit the passports, the processing times and procedures remain the same.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  69. sandy

    Hi Indira,
we have been asked by CHC ND to submit passport , medical , landing fees, PCC and all documents in original for stamping PR VISA for Canada in May 2011 and we have submitted the same as per their instructions……….4 months have passed but still we are waiting for passport to get back after visa stamping from CHC ND……do not know the reason of delay………why they are taking so much of time in stamping the passport…? how much time they will take to send back the passport after visa stamping …..pl. let us have your opinion………

    1. Indira

Well, the average time for the return of the passports after stamping is anywhere from 15 days to 6 months. There are no reasons whatsoever for the delay in this process.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. sandy

Don’t you think that after the submission of medical reports, all the original certificates / documents and landings fees and original passport……CHC ND is taking too much time for stamping PR VISA on the passport and returning back the same to us….?

when there are no reasons for the delay in this process then why we have not yet received our passports back from them after stamping PR VISA….? already more than 4 months have passed……we are very much worried about this, as if we are hanging somewhere in the air bet. India and Canada……can not decide what to do and when to do….really feeling tensed about the result………but thinking positive and waiting….
pl. help me out in this matter.
        sorry for the trouble…..sandy

        1. Indira

Ok, so did you know there is something called ‘criminal and security checks’ to be done before we get the visas? This part is only done after they receive our medicals and passports and are found to be satisfactory. This is actually outsourced and there is a cost involved in the same. This is done by various intelligence agencies and they may take their own time to verify things and give a report. Only after receiving this report our file will be moved towards closing(visa stamps). Every person and file is different and so it takes different amount of time for the checks, so the delays in some files.

          Thanks,

          Indira Prabhakaran.

          1. sandy

thanks madam for your reply….but as you informed that there is security checks……in this matter we have already submitted PCC to them…..which indicates the criminal and security checks are clear…….and which is valid for 6 months…….apart from that do you think that any other criminals and security checks are still required…….? pl. need your opinion in this matter……

another thing is that…..can you suggest me within how many months we will have to land in canada after getting back our passport duly stamped with immigration VISA…..?
sorry for the incovenience….waiting for your reply…..

          2. Indira

            One more time for you!

The PCCs are only to indiicate the clarity on the local police records. There are more international organizations like intelligence agencies etc., who do another round of security and criminal checks(This is mandatory for immigration to Canada). So, yes the wait is justified.

For landing, we will have to land within one year from our medicals date, else the visa expires. This is irrespective to the date of visa issuance.

            Thanks,

            Indira Prabhakaran.

  70. Nira

The visa office has now requested an FBI clearance certificate from the USA which I am in the processing of receiving, but my main concern is it takes anywhere from 8-10 weeks for processing. Once I have it, it will be Mid-December and my medical expires in February. Will I have to redo my medical? How long will the visa office take to process the application after they receive the certificate? Should I send my passport along with the certificate to ND office to avoid the delay? Or should I wait for them to ask me for the passport? Any advice would be appreciated

    1. Indira

You cant send the passports until they ask for the same. Yes you will have to redo your medicals, if they expire before they issue the visas.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  71. amarjit

    hi mam,
i have applied on june 2010 under 38 occupations list. its being 9 months since receiving my 2 AOR & my ECas says documents received by visa office and review pending. so mam iwant to know
when will it change to in process??????
    when will i receive medicals????????
and one thing i ve applied through consultancy. do i have to enquire to CIC
    thanks

    1. Indira

Looks like you are a Pre – June applicant and unfortunately they are taking longer than 2 years for this batch to complete processing. Please get your agent to send a case specific inquiry int the status of your application.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  72. m.prem kumar

We received your application for permanent residence on February 11, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on March 22, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the New Delhi office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the New Delhi office on March 30, 2010. The New Delhi office may contact you.

    Dear Indira,
can u tell about the old cases applied before 2008. i have applied in 2005 for canada but did not received anything after submitting documents agin in 2009. It was heard earlier that now old cases will get visa fastly but now a days it heard that Canada Govt. is not inetrested in old cases. they are not going to issue visa to old cases in 2011 or 2011. can u say anything on it.
    regards,
    Puneet
    from india
Kindly update at my id too.
    thanks in advance!

    1. Indira

While a part of this is true, they are fast tracking the new ones, and that is just to ensure they have enough time to process the old ones. They still haven’t declared anything about dropping all the old applications. Just that it will take some more time for them to clear the backlog. I suggest you apply again under the new strams if you are eligible.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  74. kamal gupta

can anyone tell fate of pre june 2010 (M I 1) applicants .Ecas shows RBVO since last july 2010.caips notes tell B’FD on 25/12/2010.

    1. Indira

This batch, the current processing time is more than 2 years :( .

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  75. rajiv

if the e cas shows rbvo does it mean that the file is not being looked into at all.or are they doing any background checks or any other enquiry .what does b ‘fd to F R R means. Also caips mention that file is ready for officer review but does not mention when it will be reviewed.Does e cas changes as soon as they start reviewing it.

    1. Indira

RBVO means the application file is physically received at the office and nothing much. I’m nto familiar with CAIPS notes :( .

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  76. charming_param

mam i ve query regarding my case.ive applied in oct 2006 then i reapplied in fast track under 38 occupation list in june2010.when i check my Ecas with the file number which i received under 38 list, the page with two options says documents received and other says in process. so my question is
is it for the fast track case????
or is it for my old case aswellas for my new case????
r they processing the old cases or just the new cases???
    thanks

    1. Indira

You will ahev to corelate it with the file numbers received for the respective applications. They have not completely stopped processing the old applications, so there is a chance that either of the apps are in process.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  77. amarjit

    mam
ive a question when u say 2 year + mam for the prejune cases
    whats mean by that
is it from the day we applied the case
or is it day when they recieved the full documentation
    please tell
    thanks & cheers
    amarjit

    1. Indira

It is more likely 2 years from the date they receive complete documentation. Previously it was from the date of application received in Sydney, but now the times are increasing.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  78. tony

    Hi,
We applied on July 14th via spouse sponsorship.. Received approval on sept 2st.. and file was transferred to ND VO on the same day..its been more than 40 days and we haven’t heard anything nor there is any update on ECAS.. Do you have any idea as to what’s going on and how long would we have to wait to get the PPR..

    1. Indira

      Hey Tony,

Sorry, I’m not familiar with the spousal sponsership thing yet :( . Try sending a case specific inquiry to them.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. tony

Sure.. Will try that.. Thanks for the quick response Indira.. Take care & have a nice day..

  79. kamal

my e cas changed to in process today after 16 months .what is next stage on e cas & when i should expect request for medicals.

    1. Indira

Congrats on this big step Kamal :) . You can expect some sort of verification on your file, or simply medical requests in the next 3 months :)

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  80. charming_param

thanks a lot mam to enlight me regarding my immigration query.thanks

  81. philanthropist

    Respected Madam,

I’ve applied for Canada immigration under skilled migration category (MI-3)
When I’ve applied the cap limit was not reached and until last update i.e. on 31-10-2011 cap limit is yet not reached.
My application reached CIO before 5-6 days of last updates. (done on 31-10-2011)
I am in worry that whether my application would be included in updates up to 31-10-2011 ?
(So that I can became secured within cap limit)

    Regards with Thanks in advance

    1. Indira

You will have to wait and see if your application fee is encashed. That’s the only way your application can have a confirmation of acceptance.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. philanthropist

Thank you Madam for quick reply…

How can I check whether fees is en-cashed. As I have sent Bank Draft.?
Further, how much time CIO takes to encash the bank draft.?

        Regards

        1. Indira

You will have to check this from the bank which issued the draft. They can take anywhere from a week to 6 weeks to encash the draft.

          Thanks,

          Indira Prabhakaran.

  82. Renshu

My final application was submitted on September 2010 on NOC 3112, Ecas status says, ‘In Process’ on January 12, 2011, I have however not yet been informed on Medical Request. Can anybody share experience on when around I might receive medical request? Thank you and have a good day.

    1. Indira

Sometimes it takes longer to get the medicals and so you will have to wait for it. It all depends on the amount of time required for the verification on the information on file.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  83. Mariyam

Dear Indira Madam, we finished more than 10 weeks from our medical, and enquired case specific, but they didnt replied. can you please advice regarding this matter

    Mariyam

    1. Indira

Sometimes they take time to reply and they are not motivated to reply for ‘What’s with my file’ questions. Please be patient, as I have stressed several times, the time taken to return the passports with visas is anywhere from 15 days to 6 months and you are well within the limit.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  84. rajan

    hi mam ,
i have appliied for fsw category of dentist on august 27 ,2011 .and till date i have not recieved any file number ,can u please let me know how much more time it will take so that i could get 1st file number , i have even checked that they dint have encashed the DD so y its getting late !!!

    1. Indira

      Hi Rajan,

So, you have applied under the MI3 and still haven’t receievd the PER from CIO. And your BD is not yet encashed? Please send an email to the CIO and check status of yoru file. They will take about 2 weeks to reply(although they can reply sooner), but they can confirm what’s happening with the file. Sometimes, I have seen that they take more than 3 weeks to encash the BD, and I know of a person whose BD was encashed after 2 months. Don’t lose hope :) . Please send a inquiry into your application asap.
The link for that is at the bottom, of this page http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply-after.asp. If you use an agent, you cannot send the query, your agent has to do it on your behalf.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. rajan

hii mam , can u plz tell me how much time NDVO takes for providing the 2nd file munber n the next process after that, its about 36 days now from 1st file number i havent recieved anything !!!

        1. Indira

Details in the process page of this blog!

          Indira Prabhakaran.

        2. rajan

mam my ecas is showing IN PROCESS is it a good sign,im a MI-3 applicant ,should i expect direct medical also from ndvo or they vl send the 2nd file no. first ???

          1. Indira

MI3 is the same process as MI2. Please read the process page on this blog for answer.

            Indira Prabhakaran.

          2. rajan

mam u said process for MI2 & MI3 IS SAME BT IN MI3 one has to send all there docs to nova scotia where as MI2 has to send cases to NDVO ,is itso so the process would also be diffrent ???

          3. Indira

Looks like you are not familiar with the MI terms.

MI – 1 is the applications received after NOV 2008, under the 38 occupations list(No CAP)

MI – 2 is the applications received after June 26, 2010 under the 29 occupations list(1000 CAP for each NOC)

MI – 3 is the applications received after July 01, 2011 under the 29 occupations list(500 CAP for each NOC)

For MI 1, simplified applications were sent to CIO in Sydney and the complete applications were sent to visa offices.

For MI 2 and 3, Complete applications are sent to CIO and everything is the same except for the CAP for each NOC.

            Thanks,

            Indira Prabhakaran.

thanks alot mam for ur guidence , my agent says that CIO is taking about 4 months time these days to provide file number and BD is also been encahed late ,is it so can i trust them ?

    1. Indira

It depends again, but there is no harm in sending in an email asking for an update on your application. Push your agent to send that email! I’m not sure of the current timelines of CIO :( .

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. rajan

mam thanks for ur reply, ca u plz tell me how much time do ndvo is taking these days to provide file numbers to mi3 applicants n medical is expected in most cases??

        1. Indira

Unsure, because I’m not tracking the timelines recently. You may want to check in the forum http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/skilled-worker-professional-immigration-b4.0/

mam i want to ask can i continue or can i leave my old job. is it make any difference if i join new job. if so do i have to give again the detailed experienced after joining the new job or just the appointment letter.please tell
    thanks

    1. Indira

It depends on what stage of the application process you are in. If your medicals are over, it is safe to leave your old job and you can afford not to let them know about it. It is not going to affect your app. But if it is before medicals, you will have to let them know of the change in employment and they will ask for some documents.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

My brother recommended I might like this blog. He used to be totally right. This put up actually made my day. You can not imagine simply how so much time I had spent for this info! Thank you!

  89. Jagdish

    Hi Indira,

I submitted my Canada FSW -PR application on 9th April 2010 and second stage documents on 22nd Oct 2010. On 26th Nov 2010, I recieved a communication from Visa Office confrming the reciept of my “Application Package” at the visa office and also the change in file number from the one initially issued by CIC, Nova Scotia.

Does this mean that the visa office is acknowledging the reciept of my second stage documents?

Also, my esas status only says “Application Recieved” rather than RFVO as mentioned in some of the earlier threads posted.

    Please advice.

    Regards,

    Jagadish

    1. Indira

      Hi Jagdhish,

As you are a Pre June applicant, there could be some differences in the ECAS statuses. As of now, yes your complete file is received by VO and they have put your file for further processing. You can expect a communication(probably medicals) soon.

      Good luck.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    Hi Indira ,

to be direct to the point:

    NOC code 0631 restaurant manager

    1.Applied on 18 April 2011
    2. recieved Mail from CIC to update my fund details
    3. Updated funds. Details sent on July 17th+ sent them request to change VO from London To Singapore as i have left Dubai and moved to work in Singapore + sent them proof of residence in Singapore .
    4. recieved PER 18 October 2011
    5. Ecas Was showing: Eligibility review complete
    6. Now Ecas showing: In Process , when i click i get: We receieved your application on July 17th.

To date i havent got any message such as Recieved by Visa office.

    what shall i do ?
will they send my file to London ? or they will send it to Singapore as per my written request on July 17th?

    Kind regards:)

    1. Indira

You will have to contact the Singapore VO, probably cc the London VO and confirm where your application is right now. Please use the respective VO’s website to contact them via case specific inquiry.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    hi indira,

Is it true that most applicants under fsw at NDVO get a interview waiver? what is %age of applicants getting a waiver. Please tell me whether those who get a interview call are they mostly rejected & V O are mostly nasty & reject your application on even small grounds & are on lookout of ways & means to reject you & interview you for for hours.

    1. Indira

Yes, only a few % of applicants say, 10 to 15% receive interview requests and not ALL of those who attend interviews are difficult applications/ get rejected. It depends on the individual file and how well we prepare for the interview.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  92. ROBIN JOY

    Hi Indira,

I applied federal skilled worker apllication on 13th july,2011. I received my file nomber on 20th october. What is the next procedure. How much time take for passport medical request. I expect your reply at an early date,

    Thanks & regards,

    ROBIN JOY

    1. Indira

I suggest you please go through ‘the posts related to our immigration story’ to get an idea of the process flow for the application processing. The process itself hasn’t changed much since then.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

mam i would like to have ur advice and guidance for my case .
First of all thanks for ur great work and what u provide to the general public thats amazing .
mam i m an lecturer.i have applied in june 2006 in which ecase says in process
then applied under 38 occupation lists in oct 2009 and my case was rejected due to lack of documentatin i.e is my ielts score and adaptablity. at that time i got married and havent focus much on my case .then i reapplied on may 2010 under same category and its been 12 months since i submitted this time all my documentation.ecase says rbvo.how long it will take to have medical or all process done
is it have any negative impact on my case as it was rejected because of lack of documentation????? or can i also applied to any other category to canada as my uncle lives in winnipeg????.please

    1. Indira

I remember replying to a similar query already, and the answer hasn’t changed yet! IF the old application was rejected because of lack of documents to support points claim on language or adaptability, it will NOT affect your current application. The delay in your current application is probably due to the fact that they are taking more than 2 years at present to finalize the applications that were submitted before June26th, 2010.

Yes you can apply for Manitoba PNP if you qualify.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  94. BALWINDIER

    Dear mam

about pre june applicant tVO hav mentioned the time of 16 month

i have completed the 13 month what are they doing with old cases

    1. Indira

      Hi Balwinder,

I know the CIC website states 16 months for Pre Juners, but the reality(forum and this blog sources) confirm it’s more than 2 years as of now. I’m not sure what they are doing with the old applications :( .

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  95. Lakulish Pandya

    Hi,

I applied on 4th August 2011 for FSW. My application received to CIO Sydeny on 8th August 2011. After several months I am unable to get status of my file. After several months pass on I sent mail to CIO Sydeny for search enquiry for my file. On 8th Nov I got reply with my file number on same number. Later I check my e-cas status. It show “In Proces” and when I click “In Process” it show my file received on 8th August. What is mean to show? It means only medical is pending or more.

    1. Indira

The process is outlined in this post. http://indiraprabhakaran.com/blog/fsw/the-process/

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  96. Chintz

    Dear Indra,

I have been following your thread for a week now and i sincerely appreciate your approach towards answering candidates’ queries. Frankly, your answers are much informative than those given by many of the visa consultants!!
Please find my details as below:

Applied under FSW2- category 0631- as Restaurant Manager- having one and half years experience in the specified field.
Application Received at CIO- 4th February 2011- CAS- ” Application received”
1st AOR and positive assessment of Eligibility – 22nd March 2011- CAS- “Eligibility Review Complete”
File received at New Delhi V/O and letter issued- 18th April 2011- CAS- ” Received By Visa Office”
Visa Office Review Complete and Started processing on 7h November 2011- CAS- ” In Process”- with tag line as mentioned.

as per you how long it could take for medicals from this point of time.
I read a couple of comments where its mentioned it could take as long as 6 months too after In Process.
Just like most of candidates, i also have few important career decisions on hold due to this. I would be grateful if you can throw some light on my case.

    Regards,
    Chintz

    1. Indira

Thank you for the compliments :) . The processing is outlined in this post. Please help yourself. http://indiraprabhakaran.com/blog/fsw/the-process/

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  97. Chintz

    Dear Indira,

Thanks for the prompt response.. I went through the process before contacting you. its really informative as i mentioned.. i also read one of your comment which says it takes about 15 days to 1 month for medicals once the ECAS changes to “In Process”..

Does “in process” signify that Visa Office Eligibility Review is complete?
I have confirmed the employers havent received any verification call so far.

I would be grateful to you can look into my case with regards to approximate total time which i have to wait till medicals.

    Warm Regards,
    Chintz

    1. Indira

OK, the time to get medical requests again depends on how complex the file is. They may take anywhere between 15 days to 6 months to verify and process the file for medical requests. Calling the employer might happen, but that’s just one way of verifying things.

Sorry I cannot predict your medicals date. In Process means, your file is up in the queue and just opened for processing.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. Chintz

        Hi Indira,

How r u..Glad to update that i received medicals- rprf- passports requests and completed the same. But there is a confusion. As mentioned earlier, my online status changed to “in proces” on 7th Nov 2011 and medicals were issued on 10th Nov 2011 itself with an expiry date of 30th Dec 2011. Unfortunately medicals were sent by soft copy only and the soft copy was marked to a WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS. The consultant posted a query on 12th January 2012 and received a reply from CHC on 31st January mentionong the email id to which medicals were issued. However in the same reply, CHC provided 30 days extension following which we completed medicals.. To all the readers, its a classic example to be careful in communications with CHC especially such rare mistakes should also be accounted for from their end in wait time!!! ALthough the consultant has written in the reply to CHC about the mistake in EMAIL ADDRESS.

Hope there wont be an issue now…Is RPRF encashment a sign of medicals being cleared??
I know Guru mantra of 15 days to 6 months..so no question on timeline :-) …Have a great time..
        Awaiting reply..

        Warm Regards,
        Chintz

        1. Indira

          Hi There,

ALL is well! Yes, RPRF is encashed only after satisfactory medicals :) . Good luck to you!

          Indira Prabhakaran.

          1. chintz

            Hey Indira…

RPRF draft en-cashed yesterday and status updated “medicals results have been received”…

            Awaiting Visas now..

            Regards,
            Chintz..

          2. chintz

            Hi Indira,

I have received visa on first week of march2012, thanks for your guidence. I would seek your advice on couple of points,
            1) i am planning to move to regina as one of my friend is residing there. Do i have to stayback at toronto(first point of entry in canda) till my sin and health card is issued or i can proceed to regina the same day?
            2) can i work while awaiting sin?
            3) how much fund do i have to show in which specific format?
4)has there been a case when anyone has not bee allowed entry in canada while immigration officers interview at POE.

            Pls Help

            Warm Regards,
            Chintz

          3. Indira

            Congrats!
            1. No, you can go to Regina directly, not necessarily through Toronto. If you want to, allow ample time for flight changes and landing procedures between flights.

            2. SIN is an instant thing. You get your number immediately after applying and that is sufficient to work. Plastic cards arrive later.

            3. Any format, but with your name on it.

            4. May be, I do not know.

            Indira Prabhakaran.

  98. Gurpreet

    Hi Indira,

My Status is changed from RBVO to “IN PROCESS” but deltails indise are still same.

  99. Rithvick

    Hello,

I am a FSW applicant. I got my first file number by June 2010 (from Nova Scotia) and I supplied all the required documents to CHC New Delhi by Oct 2010 (within 120 days limit). Post submission, I got the 2nd file number in 2 weeks. It’s been over a year now and last night I checked the status in eCAS. It says “A decision has been made on you application. The office will contact you concerning this decision”. I have not received any communication in terms of request for medical examination nor a phone call pertaining to verification or any sort. This leaves me terribly worried.

Glad that I found your blog with a hope that I would find some clarity from veterans like you and would appreciate your thoughts on this.

    Regards,
    Rithvick

    1. Indira

      Hi Rithvick,

I’m afraid ‘Decision Made’ before medicals is usually negative, but this could be a BUG on the ECAS. Please contact the NDVO using a case specific query about this.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  100. Paramjit

    HI Indira,

This is a very nice effort, must appreciate that.

I applied to Nova scotia in the month of FEB 2011 as a pharmacist and my DD got encashed on 22nf FEb 2011. My file was transferred to NDVO in April 2011 and i recieved a letter from new delhi VIsa office stating they will take 8 to 10 months from processing and if i dont hear from them in 6 months i can contact them.

So i contacted them in the month of October inquiring about my case, and last week i recieved a letter from them and they are asking me to provide me documents to prove my duration of employment (like pay slips, attendance records, form 16 and etc etc)..i work for a very small shop here in ahmedabad so i dont get pay slips and all…. And i am confused should i send the original documents to them or shd i send them the notarized copy. Also, am tensed what would be the outcome for this ….request you to please help .

    Thanks ,
    Param.

    1. Indira

      Hi Param,

Do not worry, sometimes they just need more supportive work to prove employment. Just get a letter from your boss explaining your employment with starting date, salary details, work hours etc., If you can show the salary coming in(could be a cheque deposit) regularly in the bank, send them those bank statements to prove employment. Send original letters to teh NDVO and explain them why you don’t have Form 16 etc.,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  101. Rajesh

We got a letter from CIC, New Delhi to under go the Medical, PCC, RPRF payment. We completed all they request and sent to them, So what is the next and how much time does it take, please advise

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  102. Neelam

    1. Indira

      Hi Seema,

      Good luck to you.

    1. Indira

      Hi Sudha,

It could take anywhere from few days to months and I suggest you not withdraw the funds until you have the passports back. Good luck :) .

    Madam,
after sending medical reports, landing fees, pcc, original documents for verifications and passport for stamping PR / immigration visa in the last week of june 2011……our status now (a week ago) shows as “decision made”…….

1….can you suggest me that when I intend to get my passport back with PR status…?
    means positive reply from NDVO….
2…..after the completion of above process is there any chance of any type of unfavourable response…?

pl. let me have your opinion…..sorry for the trouble…..sandy

    1. sandy

      madam,
we have recd. letter from CHC ND to submit original documents, PCC, landing fees , medical reports and passport for stamping immigration visa …..we have submitted all the requirements in the third week of june 2011 to CHC ND …….and they have acknowledge the same……
a week ago, on verifying our status….it shows as “decision made”……but till date we have not yet recd. our passport back with stamping…… can you suggest me how much time CHC ND VO will take to return back our passport after stamping…….as decision has already made……..??

Can I treat the “decision made” as positive news and can start my packing for the journey to CANADA…..? as after long waiting for more than 5 months after the submission of passports for stamping , we have not recd. any further queries from them till date……
pl. let me have your opinion with regards to this…..thanks….sandy

      1. Indira

As i replied to your earlier comment, it must be a positive decision, please wait.. It’s all there and just a matter of days..

        Indira Prabhakaran.

    2. Indira

      Hi Sandy,

It should be a positive decision and you would recieve the passports soon.. Max a couple of weeks.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. sandy

        madam,
we have recd. passports with a refusal letter….states that the income of the sponser for the 12 months before the file has been submitted in Feb. 2007 does not meet the minimum required income…..so they have refused giving PR…….it has become a very sad day for all of us……

I can not imagine after doing medicals , PCC, depositing landing fees , submitted all the original documents which have not retd. back to me …..they have refused to give PR to us………now you can very well understand the position of my son, who has maintained the student status for the last 5 years instead of doing any job over here…….they have ruined the life of my son……this is India and not canada, getting the good job is very difficult……. he will have to struggle a lot to get the good job after crossing the age of 25……he will not get any govt. job at this age…..

For your information, my elder son, (sponser) is maintaining much more income than the minimum required income to sponsor from June 2006 to till date…….his income is much more higher than what is required for sponsership……of his parents and dependent brother……all these has happened by the licenced canadian consultant who has taken our case and filed on our behalf to CPC Mississaga for our Immigration Visa PR….later on the file was transferred to New Delhi for consideration……..due to the mistake of the consultant who has submitted our file one month before (early) and that too without verifying the income ……if he would have submitted our file a month later then today we would have been in Canada and my younger son’s life wouldn’t have ruined………this is the question of life and death for my son…..

can you suggest me what to do now ….? Is there any possibilities for this case / file to be considered in near future…? I am really worried about my son……pl. advice……sandy

        1. Indira

Very sorry to hear this, but the sad truth is I keep hearing bad stuff about the immigration consultants these days!

If you feel the refusal was unfair and you really qualified, please contact CIC. If they refuse to reopen the file again, the best thing is to apply again for the PR for your 2nd son. I’m sure you will be careful this time to verify the documentation before submitting.

Yes you can reapply as long as the refusal was not on the misrepresentation/fraud counts.

          Thanks,

          Indira Prabhakaran.

          1. sandy

            Hi Indira,
Thanks for you kind words….but tell me…

1….. after doing medicals and depositing landing fees, can CIC refuse the cases like this…..?

2….If my elder son reapply means again we will have to wait for another 5 years…..and maintaining the student status for another 5 years is not at all possible for my younger son ….then when my younger son will start his life….?

3…..but one thing my elder son applied for our sponsorship thru licensed consultant …ex-canadian visa officer…, the mistake was not from our side…..consultant has made the mistake in the income column…..my elder son has given all the required documents to him….but he has not checked properly and this great lose of 5 years of life has happened only becoz of his negligence…..if he would have checked and then filed our case a month later ……which would have given us a positive result……
4…….if I make an appeal, will I get positive result….?

5……more over I want to file a suit against that consultant ex-officer of CHC for his negligency……….I am not going to leave him like that….he has spoiled the life of my younger dependent son……shall I get any fruitful result out of that….?…pl. guide…….sandy

          2. Indira

            Sorry for the delay :(

            1. Yes, CIC reserves the right to refuse visa at any stage.

            2. There are so many other ways he can qualify to immigrate! Please do your research and start with http://www.cic.gc.ca

            3. You chose your consultant and that means your consultant is acting on your behalf. So, there is nothing much you can do on that. You can sue your consultant for his mistake and that has nothing to do with CIC.

            4. An appeal cannot do justice for a mistake in the application. Nothing harm in trying that, except for the fact that you have to shell out more money and time.

            5. Please read my answer on 3.

            Thanks,

            Indira Prabhakaran.

          3. sandy

            Thanks Indira,
Thank you very much for spending your valuable time and opinion ……..do you have any idea about …..

……that during our appeal if our sponsor submit his income for the last 4 years which is far above than the minimum income required for the sponsorship, will it be taken into consideration for the sponsorship…???…….Is there any rules so that our case can be considered….?….pl. inform….sorry….sandy

          4. Indira

Sorry, I’m not sure and I do not want to promise you on that. Please do your research.

            Indira Prabhakaran.

  109. sandy

Thanks madam for your immediate response…………waiting for the passports to receive………..

but when CHC normally sends passports by registered post or courier, it should take only 3 to 4 days time to reach in metro cities then why they are taking so much of time….?…I can not understand……if you have any idea then share with me about this……I will be obliged for this…….sandy

    1. Indira

Well, NDVO usually does some stuff and so we are able to predict some processes and timelines.. Otherwise there is no way we would be abe to answer most of the questions. Here, they usually send the passports out soon after the ‘Decision Made’ but they reserve the right to send it at their own pace. This could be due to the huge administrative burden they currently have.

You have waited this long and a few more days before you stop waiitng! The passports come by registered post.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. sandy

Thank you madam and very sorry for the incovenience…….sandy

    2. Ankur

can you tell me how much time usually CHC takes to return the passport after submission. , I have to fly to other foreign country , i need my passport as soon as i can , is there any way we can request for personnel submission of our passport.

      Please advice

      1. Indira

Anywhere from 15 days to 6 months. It’s not possible to submit the passport personally or collect it personally.

        Indira Prabhakaran.

      2. Ankur

        Hi Indra,

as you said it will any where from 15 days to 6 months, is there any suitable way to contact CHC delhi for returning passport. in case we have any emergency, as I checked so many time there Ecase online status it does not show any fruitful information , when i called they said they would not tell status over phone, send a Email, even i sent couple of email and requesting letter via courier as well they are not ready to answer any query on time, I had USA visa, USA consulate never hold any passport untill they are not satisfy with all paper work , usually they release any one passport max 3- 10 days, I don’t know but it is very much pathetic behavior from any consulate i ever saw. ,

        1. Indira

OK, so yes you can request for the passports to be sent back right away, BUT they are going to send it without visas. Anyways you will have to resend the passports and the same procedures apply for the waiting time. I’m sure you are talking about the work/visit visas for US and not the PR visas. NDVO processes a lot more applications than the US consulate and a PR visa requires lot of checks that are done after the receipt of the passports.

          Thanks,

          Indira Prabhakaran.

          1. Ankur

CHC asked us to submit our passport in person on chc counter , they asked us local contact number as well, can you tell me whether they will provide any kind of receipt when they take passport over the counter, and after in person submission how much time they takes… any idea about this process…

          2. Indira

Sorry, I do not know! This is the first time I hear something like this.

            Indira Prabhakaran.

Please send ur email address also

Let’s hope it’s good news :) . The passports might arrive in less than 2 weeks time. I sent you an email.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  111. vidyagandhi

i filed my application by february 2010. now they told me to pay me RPRF and submit my passport. no medical exam had happened. so how long it takes for medicals?. is there any possibility of rejection apart from medical reasons??

    1. Indira

This is strange! NDVO usually sends medicals, RPRF and passports requests together. May be your case is different because you are a Pre June applicant? I’m not sure why they would need the RPRF and passports without medicals. Please contact them using a case specific inquiry and confirm if that is what they intended to.

    Hi,

I applied on 8th August 2011. My DD clear on 20th October 2011. I got my file number on 4th Nov 2011. After few days back I send query to CIO in respond message I got “Your file is still pending final review and decision by our office. You will be contacted in due course” Does it mean PER or NER? Any idea how much time require for PER after DD en cash.

    1. Indira

Sometimes they take longer than usual for issuing PER. I know of a case where they took 3 months to encash the DD and another case where they took 5 months to issue a PER. Please be patient.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. Lakulish Pandya

Today I got email from CIO. Pls. guide me on this.

“I have now completed the assessment of your application for a permanent resident visa as a skilled worker. I have determined that you do not meet the requirements for immigration to Canada.

Subsection 12(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) states that a foreign national may be selected as a member of the economic class on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada. Pursuant to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, 2002, skilled worker applicants are assessed on the basis of the requirements set out in subsection 75(2) and the criteria set out in subsection 76(1). 1. Indira

          Hi There,

This is a NER :( . I understand that you should have expected more points on the work experience factor and that’s where it went wrong. Looks like you have not done your homework on the job duties or description thing. May be you did your part well, but that did not satisfy the VO for that NOC. I suggest you to reapply, if you still think you qualify. This time, please ensure you double check your application and documentation.

          Good luck to you.

          Thanks,

          Indira Prabhakaran.

can i file a petition against CIC canada regarding the slow processing .i heard they are not dealing with our cases(pre june case). their 1st priority is post july 2011,2nd is post july 2010 and 3rd is pre june.so they are no in mood to deal with our cases. what is ur opinion on that.

    1. Indira

You are welcome to do that! I would also suggest you to reapply under the new streams if you are eligible for faster processing!

    Hi
HRU, my medical report is recived on september 30,2011 & after that there is no reply from london VISA OFFICE ,i applied from saudi arabia for PR.can u pls tell me how long takes time to decide PR visa approied or not.
    bi

    1. Indira

I’m sorry I’m not familiar with London VO timelines..

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  118. Ami

    Hi Indra,

I sent my application for PR in July 2011 in FSW 3113 category. My visa office is New Delhi. I had applied this application when I was in London but since then I have travelled to USA and currently living in USA.

I received AR from NDVO in Nov and now waiting for medical and passport submission request.

My question is: I can travel short term to India for passport submission but need to travel back within 4 -5 weeks to USA due to my job. Do you think my passport will be stamped and returned in this time perid or if there is a workaround to this problem?

Also, is there a requirement that your passport needs to have atleast 1 year validity at the time of submission, my son’s passport will expire Jan 2013?

    Regards,
    Ami
Ami recently posted..Fraudsters targeting Newcomers! My Profile

    1. Indira

      Hi Ami,

There is a risk involved with this. Sometimes passports take upto 6 months for no known reasons to get stamped and returned. No, a 6 months validity should work, provided it is 6 months from the date of visa stamping. They may ask you to renew if they think it will take longer for the visa issuance.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. Ami

Thank you for your response Indra.

        Another question:

        1. I had submitted all documents initially except for PCC. Now I have received PCC for stay in USA and India. Shall I send it to NDVO proactively or wait for them to ask for it.

        2. I understand I need to send this to

        Immigration Section
        Canadian High Commission
        PO Box 5209 , 7/8 Shantipath,
        Chanakyapuri
        New Delhi 110021

Since I need to send this from USA and cannot fedex documents to PO address

So instead can I send it to this address:

        Immigration Section
        Canadian High Commission
        7/8 Shantipath, Chanakyapuri
        New Delhi 110021

        Regards,
        Ami

        1. Indira

You may have to wait until they ask for it. Yes the second address works fine too :)

          Indira Prabhakaran.

          1. Ami

            Hi Indra,

Need your guidance again. Just to refresh, I applied for PR in 3113 category in July 2011, visa office is new delhi.

First AOR received Sept from Nova Scotia and 2nd AOR from new delhi in Oct 2011.

I have now received letter from NDVO requesting proof of funds & Original PCC.

            My questions:
            1. Does this request for POF & PCC indicate that my background check is done and okay?

            2. I submitted PCC on 6th Jan to NDVO even before they asked me, and I have not received any acknowledgement from NDVO of receiving it yet (though I do have courier delivery confirmation) – do I need to submit again or just tell them that I have already sent it before
(I sent PCC even though you advised me to wait till they ask for it)

            3. POF – All my bank accounts and property/house are in combined name with my husband. Please tell me all possible “proof” of funds which are acceptable to NDVO , Are joint account with spouse acceptable, can Property be considered as proof of funds
My husband has sufficient funds in his Provident funds & can take out that to a saving bank account – is this required.
I am trying to understand all possible ways to gather funds

            Regards,
            Amit

          2. Indira

            Hi Amit,

            1. It only means that they are currently processing your file ad will need those docs to complete the checks.

            2. If you have sent it already, tell them. Chances are they will ask for it again as it shows they do not have that doc on your file and it could be lost.

            3. Liquid cash – bank accounts are the best. Properties are not considered as far as I know. Yes, savings accounts are OK. joint accounts are OK, as long as both of them are in the application for PR.

            Thanks,

            Indira Prabhakaran.

          3. Ami

            Indra,

Are these valid proof of funds:

            • Fixed deposits in joint name of applicant and her father or some other blood relation– is that acceptable proof of funds
            • Provident fund – in applicant’s name – this that acceptable

Do we need to give last six month bank statement or the current balance in the account?

As I had told earlier that I had sent PCC on Jan 2nd, which is now asked in the recent letter I have got :

            1. Do they usually inform/send confirmation back upon receiving documents like PCC
            2. Do documents usually gets misplaced in this process?

I had sent them “case specific enquiry” to follow-up to confirm if they received the PCC sent through courier, they just replied after 15 days that this request is forwarded to the relevant department.

            Regards,
            Ami

          4. Indira

I would always suggest liquid funds In the name of applicants only. Current balance statement attested by the bank is fine. They may ask for 6 months statement later on. Sometimes documents get misplaced and no they do not acknowledge receipt of docs.

            Indira Prabhakaran.

          5. Amit

            Hi Indra,

It’s been a pleasure to follow your blog.

Quick recap – I had submitted PCC by courier on Jan 6th , late Jan I received a letter from NDVO to submit PCC and proof of funds.

I dropped an email from “case specific enquiry” on Feb 3rd asking them if they have received the PCC I had sent – no reply yet.

To respond to the letter I got – shall I send proof of funds + notarized copy of PCC with a note that I had already send original copies, if they need / have not received – let me know and then I will reapply for PCC once again?

Will they reply if they need PCC once again?

            Regards,
            Amit

          6. Indira

Perfect approach! Good luck to you!

            Indira Prabhakaran.

          7. Amit

            Hi Indra,

Thanks for the prompt reply, I just got confirmation from NDVO that they have received the original PCC for USA and India.

They now need ONLY PCC for UK stay.

I had submitted the PR application from UK but then I moved out from UK to USA and my stay in UK was less than 6 months (it was 5 months and 10 days). I had sent letter earlier to NDVO about this address change and also sent them notarized passport copies showing exit date from UK. I had sent these documents along with PCC.

Shall I contact them again with this information that my UK stay was less than 6 months and double check if I indeed need to arrange UK PCC? Or shall I just go ahead and apply for UK PCC?

            Regards,
            Amit

          8. Indira

I suggest you talk to NDVO about the situation and concurrently start processing for your UK PCC. That could avoid further delays.

            Indira Prabhakaran.

    Hi Indira…
I worked for one restaurant as a supervisor from feb1-july1 2011(i have ROE of this job for experience proof) and then i got the job at other restaurant as a restaurant manager and i started working from 15th july- present….but now my present employer wants to close the restaurant in coming april 2012…so my questions are-

    1) M i eligible to apply for PR under FSW(0631) in coming feb 2012(when i will have 1 year canadian experience)?

2)If i m eligible should i apply for PR(in feb) before looking for other job or should i find new job n new LMO, new work permit then apply for PR.

    3) Is transferring LMO from old employer to new is difficult or not…..n my previous employer wants to hire me….Is this will favor me in LMO transfer? bcoz i also have a 6 months work experience with this employer.

I had open work permit from sep 2010-sep2011…but now i m under LMO exempt wp till nov 2013.

I am sorry indira for asking too many questions….I dnt know what should i do?

    I really need your help….

    Please reply….

    1. Indira

Please note that you should have a total of 1 year verifiable exp in one of the 28 occupations at the time of application and the vo has to be satisfied about the job descriptions provided. I’m not sure about LMO procedures.

      Thanks

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  121. rinku

Thanks a lot for your reply….
but I wants to know if i change my job during the processing of my PR….is it going to effect my PR application or not ?….can i inform the VO that i changed my job or i have to file again for the PR with new job offer letter…

    Thanks…

    1. Indira

Your application will not be affected as long as you fully qualify at the time of application. You are required to notify the VO of the changes in your employment later, once the VO receives your application from CIO.

    Hi Indira

I applied for PR under FSW in 2010 April. I had applied along with IELTS. Since the IELTS was done in 2010 March, it is about to become two years. Yet, ND VO has not shown ‘In Process’. Will they again ask me to submit the IELTS Report in case it crosses two years by the time when they turn my file?? Really in trouble due to the delay of the NDVO.

    1. Indira

This delay is common for ALL pre June 2010 applicants and as long as your IELTS was valid at the time of your application, they should not ask you for a new test.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  123. Milan

Thank You Indira. Would you mind please emailing me your email address. I want some more suggestions from you.

    1. Indira

You can email me directly from the contact page on this site.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  124. Milan

I applied under the category of Lecturer. I applied in 2010 April and now I have also got 1+year experience in Social Worker. Should I inform them (NDVO) the change of my profession to apply in new category of work experience? Please suggest me whether I should wait until the decision is made against the present status or should I reapply under the changed profession without informing them.

    1. Indira

If you wish to apply under a new category/NOC, you will have to reapply. VO cannot change the NOC for the application when it is in process.

    Hi Indira,
I had applied for PR in June 2005, still shows my file under process. Recently I had received a Job offer in Canada for first 12 months on contract base. How can I reach to CHC to let them know that if they can expedite my PR file then I will not required to apply work permit. Also I had already inform CHC regarding my job offer, but no reply by them. I just want to know how whether they are receving my mails and updating my files and taking any action or not? How can i communicate CHC apart from this.
    Kindly help me.
    regards,

    Hello

I applied under Spouse category(family class) for Canada.

CPC received my file on August 18, 2011
Decision made on step 1 for my spouse eligibility check was on Oct 28th 2011.
File sent to Canadian High Commission New Delhi on oct 28th 2011
Request for RPRF, PCC and Passport was made on Dec 10th 2011.
I paid my RPRF online, PCC was submitted with initial submission of my file, I also submitted my medicals along with the initial submission of my file.
Still my ecas shows “application Received” with the same information that they received my file on August 18th 2011.

How long do they take for the visa processing?
What should be my next steps about the same?

    Please help.

    Regards

    Manpreet

    1. Indira

I’m sorry I do not know much about the family class thing. I heard they take about 6 months to a year to finalize once NDVO receives the app. Good luck to you.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    Hello Indira Ji,
I had applied in March 2006 and got file number in May 2006.
I knew that the processing time for 2006 applicaiton is 90 months from CIC New Delhi. I am writing to you just to know whether still there is any hope or this timeline would be further shifted to more months or years to avoid old cases.

    Best regards
    RAMIT SHARMA

    1. Indira

I’m sorry but I’m guessing they will not complete processing that batch before 2014 :( . Please try to reapply under the new instructions if possible.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. Ramit Sharma

        Hello Indira Ji,

Thanx for your reply. I didn’t expect so fast reply.

Unfortunately my skilled category doesn’t fall under new list. Since an intake of new applications from 2008 have been reduced, though CIC website still shows the processing time as 90 months. Is there any reason at CHC New Delhi for not touching old cases.

My agent is in Canada and my application was submitted at New Delhi through them in March 2006 along with original IELTS certificate. In case, the file is processed in 2014. Do I have to appear again for IELTS?

        Best regards
        RAMIT SHARMA

        1. Indira

As long as the IELTS was valid at they time of application, they will not ask you to redo it. Then, the only option for you is to wait :( . The reason is not very clear, but they claim this delay is to reduce the backlog. It’s not just with NDVO, but the same all around the world. Do not lose hope. I keep hearing good news from Pre June applicants getting their visas regularly. Just that the delay is a bit more. Good luck to you..

          Indira Prabhakaran.

          1. Ramit Sharma

Thanx for your clarifications Indira Ji!

    Hi Indira,
Well my application for permanent residence to canada was received by the CIO Sydney canada on 19th august 2011 . I received email from them on 15th nov 2011.
I again received a letter from delhi office on 26th dec 2011 saying that ur application is under process and it normally takes 10 months for processing .

I was wondering when will i get my medical papers please guide.

    Regards
    Rahul

    1. Indira

Please check the process page on this site for more info. 10 months in the letter is a generic one and not to worry. All of us received it and received medicals well before that 10 months;).

    1. Indira

Sorry I’m not familiar with family class visa process, but after the passports are received for stamping, NDVO takes anywhere from 15 days to 6 months to stamp the visas and return the passports.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  131. Ghani

    hi, Indira,

i done my medical, and i send our passports and RPRF before 15 days. now my query is that i need to withdrew my money from bank , i already withdrew more than half, please tell me it will affect to my visa process? and i heard that generally they will ask for statement if they have doubt, and if they ask me than i can deposit again and issue them statement.but it will show them transaction, it will affect?
    thanks in advance.

    1. Indira

I would suggest you put the money you withdrew again in the account, as they can verify this thing anytime before visa issuance. Why risk in the final stage?

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  132. BABU VARGHESE

    Hi Indira,

My daughter and son-in-law applied for PR from Vancouver and got approval, have done Medical on 19th Jan. They both are presently in Vancouver on student’s visa. Now they are going to send their Passports through somebody within 2 days to have it delivered to my son-in-law’s Father in Kerala for onward submission to Canadian Embassy in New Delhi by courier for stamping the visa. Kindly let me know the following as early as possible as they are going to send the passports within 2 days:-

    1) There will be any problem for submitting the passports to Canadian Embassy, New Delhi since they are presently in Canada?
    2) Normally how much time it will take to stamp the visa?
    3) What is the amount they have to pay for landing/visa stamping? If they accept draft in CAD for that amount from Vancouver or we have to make a draft in Indian rupees?
    4) What are the Forms/documents to be submitted along with Passports while applying for visa?

Awaiting your reply at the earliest.

    Best regards,
    Babu

    1. Indira

I would not suggest sending passports out of country first. It could take anywhere from 15 days to 6 months or even more for the passports to be stamped and returned. So, what if they require passports while in Canada?

Other details, will be found in this blog posts. Please take time to read.

    Hi Indira ,

I have applied for the permanent residency for Canada under FSW . As per delivery status of the courier, my application was delivered to the CIC – Nova Scotia, Sydney office on 14th December 2011. But until now I haven’t received any communication from CIC. As per my knowledge I should receive an AOR letter stating my file number .

Based upon your experience could you please let me know about when can I expect to hear from CIC? I have been checking my email inbox and spam.. but haven’t seen any thing from CIC.
Should I contact CIC via phone or email?

We received your application for permanent residence on April 30, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on August 11, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

My ecas show me like above , but i didn’t get any medical request.

    1. Indira

This is either a bug or a negative thing. Please contact your agent or see the letter they sent in August 2010 for details.

    HI Indira ,

There are many who got depressed like me after checking the latest processing times updated on 27th Jan 2012. Just within 3 months , time for New Delhi is changed from 16 to 18.
It will be really helpful if you can give your approximation if this time will reduce in future because due to harder rules after June 25, 2010 , they must have got less applications to process as compared to pre June.
Also the processing times are only given before June 25, 2010 . What about the times after June 2010. Would it be little quicker ??

Your help will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Kind Regards

  144. Ghani

hi,INDIRA, i need your valuable advice. i got my passport back with COPR, I gone through COPR ,AND find small mistake, in the COPR, there is 25 to 40 column, and in 32 column which is reflect medical validity, and it shows 22/12/12 in my wife’s COPR, while in my and my son’s COPR shows 30/12/12, we did our medical on 31/12/11, so it should be 30/12/12, which is incorrect in my wife’s COPR. my visa validity is 22/12/12. so i think they printed visa validity instead of medical validity. it can create any problem?.we will land before visa expire, so it is ignorable mistake or not? or i should inform to NDVO. all other information are correct. all passport validity is much longer.
    thanks.
P.S:-i also post this message at DECISION MADE “topic.

    hi Indira
You are doing tremendous job, from last 2 hrs i am reading query and your fine replies. You are giving very prompt answer and same way when you are not aware the things you frankly says that i have little information this way is very helpful to many people like us.
Because it is very difficult to find sound knowledge and updated knowledge data base I AM Thanking you on behalf of thousand of people and in my view everyone agree with me that you doing the best job.ALMIGHTY WILL blessed SHOWER OF HIS GOOD WISHES ON YOU.

I have submitted my application on 14/10/2011 they received it on 18/10/2011 for category 7216 I have got the approval on 19/10/2011 from Sydney.they transferred my file to Delhi office i have got mail from Delhi office on 15/11/2011 my present status is “In Process” How much time it will take to get medical? I am in the central govt job in Indian railway from last 12 years. Is any impact of this job on my file processing ? i have submitted all the proofs,i am asking this because in form they have one column where they ask that HAVE WORK FOR GOVT OR STATE GOVT OR FEDERAL GOVT GIVE DETAILS?

Same way my one friend under different category applied on 12/8/2011, got approval from Sydney on 7/11/2011,got mail by post from delhi office on 20/12/2011 and recently on 3/2/2011 got medical

    1. Indira

      Hi Chirag,

Thanks for your compliments :) .

Sometimes there is a delay in the processing before medicals for people with Govt job history. This is because of the extra record and background checks that may be required. That will not influence your application in anyway, as long as you have put entire correct information on the application.

I suggest you do not compare your timelines too much with others.. some people get medicals in 10 days and some, 6 months and eventually BOTH of them get the visas ;)

      Good luck to you!

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  146. sahil

    Hi indira,

Congrats! The medical request package will have the list of DMPs and you can choose one of them. Nope AORs are of no value after you receive visas :)

    1. Indira

If you have received and completed medicals, you are safe about your employment. Only after satisfactory employment they will issue medicals for a file.

    Hi,
I’ld like to start my application for the Canada PR under FSW 2171 … where should i start from ??

    Thanks.

    1. Indira

http://www.cic.gc.ca is the best place. For FSW info, you can go to Come to Canada section of this blog.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  151. Ani

what are the reasons for rejection of a PR?when i applied for a pr i was working, now after having some ten years of working i am home a doing business without filling an IT return though my wife is earning?can cic reject my visa on this basis?

    1. Indira

CIC doesn’t care if you are working currently or not. All they are concerned is do you satisfy ALL the minimum requirements to qualify for a PR visa under that particular stream.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  152. Kumar

    Hi Indira,

I applied PR on 22/11/2012 and cio recived my application by DHL on 29/11/2012. But still I do not have any answer from CIO for AOR. Do you know how long they take for AOR? My processing centre will be London.

    Kumar

    1. Indira

Sometimes CIO takes more than usual time to issue PER. Try sending a query on the status of your application using the link in the quick links section of this blog.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. kumar

        Hi Indira,

I applied PR on 22/11/2012, but i have not include my PCC(assuming process time will be more and by that time my PCC will expired) Do i have to send it now or wait for them to ask me ?

        Thanks
        Kumar

        1. Indira

You cant send anything after application submission, until they ask you!

          Indira Prabhakaran.

      2. Kumar

        Thanks Mam,

I sent email for my query on the status of application, so far no response,
Do they take more then week?
As per my consultant he said your application may be reached after CAP, and CAP web page update on cio is very let.
I am not sure where they received it or not before CAP.
Application received to CIO on 29/11/2011 (CAP for biologist 332 on that week out of 500). And to date it is 3 month.
        Sorry to bother you.

        Kumar

  153. Sanjay

    Dear Indira,

I lost my passport and applied for new passport. Do i hvae to inform the CIO to update the new passport No. Or i have to wait until my file open.

    Thanks

    Sanjay

    1. Indira

You must inform CIC of this thing as soon as you get your application into Visa Office, or when you get a second AOR from VO.

      Indira Prabhakaran.
