PR cards received :)

Yey! we have received our PR cards this week :). The current processing times as per CIC is 31 business days and guess what? Ours took exactly that time :). There are a few security enhancements to the PR cards recently and here’s a short video on the same.

congratulations on receiving the PR card. I have received the visa in october. we are planning to reach by mid march. well, i just wanted to enquire about the schools as i have a 6 year old kid. what should I for his admission??? kindly put some light

    1. Hi Raj,

For school, you will just need the vaccination certificate, passport and the landing documents(CPR, a copy of it will be given to us upon landing). Other than that, it’s good to have a transfer certificate from the existing school.

Here is the Toronto District School Board website.

As Indira said you need these documents. It’s very easy process and they may advise your child to take some vaccination which your child can have by OHIP after 3 months.

If you need any help, email me.

    hi there!!!

How to select a school for a kid?? Which district shall I look??

    1. Hi Raj,

Unfortunately we cannot select a school, we can only select our place of residence. Every place of residence has a school allocated to it and we will not be able to change it. So, if we do not like a school, we will have to move to some other place of residence. BTW, unlike India, ALL schools are of equal standards here.

Any idea what and how to be prepared for applying for PR card? Where do you apply for PR card? Is it during landing at the airport? Do we need to carry photographs for it? If so, what is the specification? Appreciate your timely help.

    1. Details are in the landing prep and landing posts. Your COPR is your PR card application.

If you could please help me with this query. We i.e my kids n myself are PR card holders. We went to Canada in April 2008 n got our PR. We stayed there for two months and came back, PR expires on 7thMay 2013. We are planning to go there on 23rd April for the renewal of PR, would like know the current fees for the renewal and the time it will take. What is the mandatory period that a person has to stay in Canada for the same. My son who is a minor( 14) wont be able to travel with us, so can we apply for his renewal and what documents would be needed. My Daughter (18) wants to pursue her studies in Calgary where we resided earlier. Would be very greatfull if you could help us with these queries as soon as possible.
    Thanking You,
    Kind Regards
    Jasmine Sandhu
