Timelines and the frustrating wait!

This post is here because of the TOO MANY similar queries about the timelines. I understand how frustrating the wait can be as we have gone through the same . But sometimes, patience is the key!

As per CIC, the current timelines for Pre June applications are as below.

The official website says the CURRENT timelines are not shown as sufficient data doesn’t exist.

As the trends are observed in forums and elsewhere, they are taking about a year to finalize the Post June 26, 2010 applications while the Pre June applications are taking forever to get processed. Currently it’s about 2 years or more.

I request you all to understand this FACT and be informed. Please note that I will not be answering future queries regarding the timelines such as when will I get medicals or AOR etc., The procedure is already outlined in this blog.

Thanks for your cooperation. I hope you understand.

Indira Prabhakaran.

    Hi Indira ,

    My e-cas showing this message

We received your application for permanent residence on June 10, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on October 15, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the London England office. They are pending review.

    Got my first AOR on October 15th , 2010 & 2 AOR June 8th , 2011.

The above said E -Cas status has been the same since long back. What is this suggesting -they have not indicated about medicals as such .

    Pls revert.

    1. I guess you have to wait a bit more for the medicals :(. Your app should be in the queue for processing.

    Hi Indra,
How to Calculate Processing time? Does it start from 1st AOR by CIC or by 2nd AOR from respective VO?

    Pls response.

    1. The processing times declared are for the visa offices and so obviously from the date the VO receives the applications. 2nd AOR!

    Dear Ms Indra,
I applied for Immigration Canada under FSW to CIC Sydney.
I got a mail on 30 June stating that i am eligible, and should submit docs to Newdelhi VO.
I sent all docs by 25th October 2010.
I inquired them (e-mail) on may 2011, they replied that it is under review by a visa officer, pls wait.
    So far nothing came up.
I again sent a mail, a month back, no reply.
Pls tell me what to do.. i am frustrated to the core..

    1. Have you read the timelines post of this blog yet?

  2. HI Indira,
I read the news on net that Canada’s Federal Court has announced that CIC has to process all the applications for permanent residence accepted before 2008 as court has refused Kenney’s request for chopping them.
    1) Has this been implemented?
    2) Has Canadian high commission, New Delhi started taking action to clear old files? Nevertheless, application processing time still shows 95 months on CIC website.
    3) The Federal court did not make an order for all the litigants’ applications;however, immigration department is given the deadline of October 14 to complete the processing of the lead applicants. Is it true?
    4) What will happen to those applicants who did not joined the group of litigants. Are they going to suffer for many more years.
    5) Though Federal court has asked to process old cased, however, would there be any political influence on CIC offices not to clear old cases.
Last question – What is your personal feeling as to how many more years it will take to clear 2006 cases.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Best regards
