Yes! We received our medicals :)

Yes, the much hyped about, awaited medical, RPRF fees and passports requests have arrived this morning 🙂

Needless to say I’m so happy, and this comes right after India’s glorious win over the World Cup! I was so worried that this was getting a bit delayed. Some applicants down the line already got the AOR and Medicals while i was still waiting for that first communication from VO. All of a sudden i got this message from somewhere, ‘Hang on, the best is yet to come’! There i stopped worrying, literally shut down things and started to move around. I spent the whole of the weekend, enjoying @ home, watching the ‘BEST EVER CRICKET’, celebrating the glorious win with the little one..

I preplanned and took the day off today, was just going to switch on my laptop for the day after 2 long days, i got the call from the postman that our mail has arrived:). I couldn’t wait until he comes and delivers it in the evening, walked myself to the post office and got my hands on the precious little mail:). Another surprise was that we had our UK PCCs waiting to be delivered too. The 2nd AOR, which was supposed to be received a while back, is untraceable and assumed lost for now. Who cares? I have the medicals in hand 🙂

They have asked my spouse to renew his passport as it was issued a while back. That’s going to be a challenge as the current one is valid for more than 5 years from now. The reason might be that he looks a lot different, than the one in his passport now. That’s OK, i have enough experience handling those passport officials and i believe i can manage to get that done quickly.

Off to celebrate for now 🙂

Please stay tuned to read our ‘medicals’ experience..

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

  3. Jiby Mathew

    Hai Indira

    I am Jiby from Kerala.

Today I recieved my medical request.

Along with the things to be submitted they have said,

I have to submit a copy of Miltary record for myself and my wife. They have not asked for PCC. I had not submtted the PCC before. So do they mean PCC by Miltary record. I have not worked in miltary. I have shown that in the application by putting “none”.
Other things are RPF Fees, Passport & Medicals

    What was your document telling.

    My timeline are
    Application Send : 19/10/2010
    Recieved: 25/10/2010
    PER: 21/02/2011
    2nd AOR: 24/03/2011
    Medicals: 26/04/20

      Hi Jiby,

Anil is the best person to answer this, and he did answer you on the forum. May be you can try calling the VO or sending them a case specific inquiry to confirm if they really need the military record or the PCCs, in-case you have not served in Army and you have not put any details next to that question in the application forms.

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

    Hello Indira,

Congrats on reaching the final leg of this journey.

Just yesterday, I received a snail mail from the ND VO confirming receipt of the application by the VO. Now, is this what is called the ‘2nd AOR’?

Also, did you or your husband receive any verification calls from the VO?

Do they essentially call the employers for verification?
I’m a bit worried as my employer is on a holiday out of India for a while and I assume & expect my application to be ‘In-Process’ any time now.

    1. Indira

      Congrats Gautham 🙂 That’s your 2nd AOR.

Nope, we did not receive any verification calls yet. They do not call for every application, may be a 10%? As of now we have known just a couple of cases with verification calls.

Do not worry, they are humane and understand such situations 🙂

      Thanks,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. Gautam

Thanks Indira. Will keep you updated!

    1. Indira

Now, You are confusing me! It could be a bug in the ECAS. Same reply! It could take anywhere from 15 days to 6 months to receive the passports with visas, after we submit the passports along with all required documents.

      Good luck to you!

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  10. leni c. maghirang

hi,after the second aor how long for the vo to send medical request, thank u.

    1. Indira

If it’s NDVO and fast track occupations stream, it could be anywhere from 1 month to 6 months, depending on the time required for background checks on the application information like employment verification, etc.,

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  11. Noamaan

    Hi Indira

Hope & Pray you are doing fine ! one more query 🙂 my passport is expiring on June 2014 ..i hope they dont ask me to renew my passport 🙁

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  12. Siva

    Hi Indira,

Thank you so much for your reply regarding my passport renewal. i have just received MR / PPR / RPRF request by email and in PPR line, it says something like this……

    1. Valid passport or travel document for yourself. Kindly submit all the passports (old &
new) after completion of all the pending requirements. This must be received at this
    office by: mm/dd/2012

i am just wondering what do they mean by

“after completion of all the pending requirements”

as this is the first time i am getting any request from the Visa office and i am confused or

am i unnecessarily worried and this is the standard request made to everyone ?

    2. Moreover, i travelled to Singapore after making my application. i stayed there only for 40 days. during that time, my appliication was with the CIO, Sydney. they will find this out when i send my old passport to them. should i need to send explanation letter and my address details while i send my passport to the NDVO office with supplementary travel information form.

Right now i am in Chennai

    Your inputs are highly appreciated…..

    Thanking you in anticipation

    Regards

    Siva

    1. Indira

That’s a standard story and yes, not to worry about! Just send your passports after the medicals are done.

Ensure you write a letter to the VO, declaring your Singapore travel after your application was submitted. Good luck to you 🙂

      Indira Prabhakaran.

  13. Thomas

    Hi Indira,

I applied for permanent residence in Canada in the Federal Skilled Worker Class on 3rd November 2011 and received my Application Number on 18th January 2012. On 23rd March 2012 we received the request letter for Medical. On 2nd February 2012, I send documents to add my new born baby to my application process to the address below.

    CANADA HIGH COMMISSION,
    IMMIGRATION SECTION,
    P.O.BOX 5209,
    NEW DELHI,
    110021, INDIA.

But still now my Credit Card is not enchased and not receive any information from NDVO regarding adding new dependent. We are confused whether we can go forward with my new dependent for medical.

I send three mail through case specify enquriy ….but still no replay from NDVO……

whether my new dependent is added to my application process.
    Thank u

    1. Indira

You cannot do the medicals without the request, can you? Try faxing them, sending them a hard copy of the letter by courier.

      Indira Prabhakaran.

      1. Thomas
